What's wrong with American Men?

You know, the point that I was actually trying to make is that gender relations - and especially personal relationships - don't need to be a zero-sum game. I think it's possible for both men and women to be strong and capable. I have a real problem with it when people try to "blame" women for the woes that men are suffering. I don't see why it has to be framed as a competition in which one side wins and one side loses.

Especially in personal relationships, who wants to be in a competition with one's sweetheart? Shouldn't relationships be cooperative, with both people supporting and helping one another regardless of gender?

I thought you were done with this board after that bullshit you pulled?

The problem with American men is that there aren't enough of them like me.

The moment a marriage becomes a competition...well, divorce is on it's way...

I don't think there is a disproportionate number (not a very high one anyway) in regards to education and hard work in at least the black communities. But, then again, I still hear people say that most Black Men don't pay child support, and there are more black men in prison than there are in college. All lies based off of opinions and not actual data. The out-earning (and as I said I am speaking on the Black Community that is all) of genders is wrong. This is more of a blog written by "Ms. Independent" as oppose to an article with factual data. Lets look at the facts...

The Total Income earned by Black Males is $253 Billion
The Total Income Earned by Black Females if $262 Billion
It might give the opinion that they earn more, but factoring in that there are roughly 1.8 million more black women than Black Men might answer that...

Lets dig a little deeper shall we?

The Average income for Black Males is $23,738
The Average income for Black Females is $19,470

So, when I say the article is written by a "Ms. Independent" who seeks to empowering opinions instead of expressing factual data, it would appear that Black American Males aren't crap. Actually checking the data would prove otherwise.

In addition to my previous statements, The lie that Black Men don't pay child support (which is off subject) is quite off seeing as how 71.6% of Black Men pay their court appointed or agreed upon child support and not to mention that for every 1 black man in jail there are 4 black men in college (we also have the second highest rate for going to college (Black Males is 6.3%, White Males is 5.8%, Hispanic Males is 4.7%, and Asian Males is 9.7%). So, from a perspective outside of the Black Community ( I suppose inside could count as well), all this does is continue to perpetuate a Gender War that keeps more people unhappy.

    My Two Cents...

Women always try to compete with men men don't care about competing with women. A lot of women have major penis envy and constantly bring topics like this up. I don't bring my racial woes into my relationships because frankly whether its a ww or any other kind of woman she can't understand its unique to me being a bm and women I actually date have never brought this topic up either. I have to wonder why.

Penis envy? If you say so..... Please check the original post, though. There are men who are interested in issues of gender equality, apparently including Mikey.

But do you really never talk about race with the women in your life? That strikes me as odd. My ex used to talk about it ALL the time.

Contrary to popular belief...not all black men are like your ex

That's not a bad thing.... but I imagine that there's a lot of middle ground between never and all the time?

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Everyone is different. However, if you are drawn to a certain type then you will see more of that. That does not, however, mean that he fits the description.

He used to talk about how some percentage of white people wanted to see the reinstatement of either Jim Crow or outright slavery. It did drive me up the wall, because he obviously just pulled the percentages out of his ass and every time he said it, the percentage was higher than it had been the last time. It started out at around 50% and by the end it was up to 75%.

I probably drove him crazy as well, because he used to talk about how I was too "headstrong and independent." Obviously, I disagreed....

You forgot the bit where you ask "Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Democratic Party?"

I wouldn't ask that. And personally I wouldn't care. No offense, but people's politics are normally based B.S.
