screw them. I remember the days when blockbuster would charge ridiculous fees for not returning on time.:smt018 just glad someone put them in their place.(though I do miss those days of renting games.) All of the blockbusters that I would go to went out of business.

on a separate note, isn't renting a movie like renting porn? you know what I mean. Why pay when you can get it for free? lol:smt042

or why go out to rent when you rent from you computer?

Yeah, even with them raising their prices a few cents starting, tomorrow, I think, it's still pretty freakin' awesome. I have Netflix streaming, but I rarely get new movies on that, and I don't watch it all the time. I'm thinking of getting rid of it. I always hated blockbuster's crazy return policies, and I had their online service, and it was just ridiculous.

RedBox has games at some kiosks...

that's why I said I was surprised when I seen games on display, at the Redbox Kiosk (given the fact that I was an avid game renter at the stores). New games at that. Shit like Rage and Ace Combat, that dropped this month. Good way to test drive stuff before you buy.

lol..ive been putting in some overtime with Heavy Rain (a game which plays out like a very long ass movie/TV show) and my old college football game from like 2 years ago. been waking up at like 5 o'clock. Once I end Heavy Rain, i'll be back to normal.

Talk about your fair weather fans, geez, for a virtual game, tisk, tisk...

that's where I draw the line. Redbox has movies as new as Captain America for rent. Why pay for a service where you can't watch stuff that just hit retail? That's absolute shit.

i haven't lifted weights in a week either. This game is beyond addictive.:smt018

i'll never crack 400lbs on the bench if I keep this up

Well, I'm WOEFULLY behind in my movie watching, so older movies are fun for me. And they had DARK CRYSTAL!! lol Somehow, that all made up for it. :)

lmao.....renting PC games wouldnt work at all

the last thing a PC developer wants to do is let you get a physical copy of their disc, without paying full price for it. It's all downhill from there, with ripped files, DRM-bypasses and hacked executables. That would be complete bedlam (and pretty funny too).

just reminds us of how weird (i mean unique) you are

in other news, i gotta google that to see what kind of snuff film it is

Is this a bad time to mention that I love silent films..? lol

    Like this one..."Les Vampires" from 1915. It's a 6 hour serial. I highly recommend it. :)

I actually own it, as well as "Birth of a Nation", Nazimova's "Salome", "Metropolis" and "Our Dancing Daughters".

Netflix has silent films, which works out for me. lol But, they also have TV shows and stuff, too, which is nice, because I refuse to get a DVR, and I don't watch a lot of TV other than NCIS, Law & Order, and MSNBC.

my grandfather used to buy me Fred Astaire tapes and memorabilia, to try to 'culture' me. He wanted me to join a cousin in Princeton, and figured that would help me 'fit in' with the crowd there (his heart was in the right place, but his mind.....eh:confused:). So, with that said, I can't laugh at you for watching Charlie Chaplin type films. I was watching shit from the 1930s with no black people, lots of dancing and corny lines.:smt100

as for netflix..i thought about signing up for something with them. as much as I stay glued to my computer, youd think id enjoy streaming shit to it.

Your grandfather sounds like he is/was an awesome man. The 1930's and 40's were an interesting time in movies, because people were really using that entertainment to get away from the trials and tribulations of the Great Depression. It was pretty corny stuff, though! lol

Ha, I love streaming because I get it through my Wii straight to the TV. It's the only reason I keep it, I think. I don't pay for premium cable channels.

Petty, thank you. I've had a very rough few days, due to a medication screw up at the pharmacy. It was really lovely to come here and find such a nice compliment out of the blue like that! :smt058

    aww

honestly tho, from what I can tell you have the type of looks many of us go for. We give you shit about your age because we wished we found someone like you much sooner, so we could spend more time together. That's all. :)

Maybe you've figured this out by now, maybe not.

As for meds, I can relate sorta. While not taking anything for something as critical as diabetes or MS, my life is still interrupted when I call in for a refill, and nothing is there. Not to mention when they call my doctors for updated scripts, they never return the calls.

Thank you. I wish I'd been found much sooner as well :)

This med is for nerve pain & depression, and while they don't tell you this when they put you on it, it has severe physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms if you go cold turkey. The pharmacy forgot to call the doctor for an updated scrip and I've been without it for 3 days now. The physical stuff is highly unpleasant, but add in that I've spent much of today in tears (which is really not my style) - I'm just glad tomorrow is Monday and they can hopefully get this one sorted out.

strong woman like you? we know tears aint your style at all

as for the cold turkey business, that's crazy. some stuff is like that and come with a weening process just to safely get off. pure ass-hattery that the scripts wouldn't be ready to rock and roll at the drop of a hat. TBH, they should have safeguards in place, like a limited supply script to fill the gap until your main script is ready. NASA has redundancy. The military has redundancy. Our politicians are very redundant. Why can't our pharmacies be the same?

Thank you, Petty. I agree, they shouldn't have put me in this situation. It's dangerous to cold turkey off this drug, and even slowly reducing the dosage doesn't get you out of the symptoms of withdrawal. If I'd known about this, I'd never have gone on this med in the first place, but they don't tell you about that up front. I was put on this the week I was diagnosed, while I was still in the hospital and completely messed up on IV steroids and pain meds. I took what they handed me. Which isn't really my style either, but in that situation I really could have used a partner or family to fight for me since I was so out of it. My son was in the middle of finals that week, and I wanted him to concentrate on those, so he never even came to see me - I was completely alone dealing with the diagnosis and the hospitalization. Not my finest hour, I admit ;-)
