Not having any black people of african origin around me most of my life...no I don't know that. LOL Australian Aboriginal people have hair similar to white people. :smt102

Avia, I am curious - why do you ask? Does he want it or you? I must assume he knows enough how to deal w his hair they way way he wants it, no?
Don't make him do anything, make sure he is not going along for the ride.

Personally, I don't like this straightening black hair out stuff, especially on men. More natural ways to wear it looks way, way better

It looks better if you take care of your hair, no matter what race. I am white and I cannot just wake up and leave the house. There is a treatment that creates a healthy nice look for any race. ;)

Yes, he wants it! I prefer it really low cut but he likes it a bit longer and I am just trying to figure out how to do that, lol. I tried a lot!

Also, I am sorry for the confusion on here..obviously I have no clue about BM´s hair or how to describe it. I also did not want to sound discriminating in any way, please know that.

I looked on google and found pictures:
he already has very nice natural hair when you brush it for a really (REALLY!) long time. It straightens out his hair kinda like seen on the picture and thus shows his wonderful curls- with a more natural look to it. (He doesn´t want it as seen on the picture but a little help that it just stays the way it looks as if I just brushed it for a long time) I don´t want to brush his hair for 30 minutes...lol..any ideas?

    ?????

    @BACU,
We actually tried that a while back, he hated that stuff.
It also gave it a grey shimmer and it was actually really hard to apply it.
He said he felt like a grandpa :p

my uncle's hair used to be like that, and I was completely envious. His just seem to come in naturally, as I never seen him do the do-rag/stocking cap hocus-pocus. As for patience, people familiar with you know you're from Europe and not used to certain things us Americans take to heart. Having a WW take interest in our grooming can only strengthen a relationship, by removing a piece of ignorance that has no place in one. The same would apply to BM when caring for their women. Going the extra step to provide them with an extra hand in grooming can only help.

Id rather have someone that knew what they were doing, ya know

MAN, my waves was on point back in the day. Used to carry a gold can of sportin waves with me where ever I went. Had a quiver of boar bristle brushes that I kept in the freezer, and so many du rags and panty hoses. Was constantly brushing my hair... I literally spent hours a day brushing my hair.

    In class *brush* *brush* *brush*
On the bus *brush* *brush* *brush*
    Eating ravioli *brush* *brush* *brush*
    Fucking *brush* *brush* *brush*
At the Chicago Bears game *brush* *brush* *brush*
    In Church *brush* *brush* *brush*

I don't think I'll ever put that type of chemical in my hair again.

I'd fuck with Let's Jam and Lester's gel so my curls would look tight.

brushing is probably the most important part of it

he likes when i brush his hair when we are watching a show before going to bed. no problem for me as long as i am not too tired. i guess a 22 year old would not like their mother to brush his hair :smt037

I'm glad to see that, after some initial nonsense, y'all realized the OP was serious and just wanted some advice/suggestions on how to help her man. Some people really don't know how to take care of their hair (ask any hair stylist that), or how to wear it in an attractive style. Or they just don't want to be bothered with either one. I think it's cool that she takes the time to help him by brushing his hair (if he likes that) and is doing research to find products that will allow him to wear the style he likes.

I like to do stuff like that for a guy. I used to like to give my guy pedicures! He loved it and I enjoyed doing it for him. He shaved his head (which I loved) so no opportunity for brushing there. (He had a little chest hair that he would brush sometimes and I didn't like it when he brushed it. Naturally, they were tiny little curlycues which I adored!)

:smt023 There are so many ways to show your partner you love them and this is one of them. Repped.

I knew exactly what she meant, but my reaction was more a result of the thoughts you expressed. I was at once surprised, amazed and left chuckling, though I wasn't amused. Personally, I find it odd that a person who you'd expect to accept you as they find you, would reject that which is a natural part of you. It's particularly offensive to me in an IR relationship as this is the place I'd think you'd find a partner who'd enjoy and embrace the differences between the two of you. Changing people to fit your idea of beauty is never a good thing, IMO.
