He started brushing his hair and uses good shampoo, his hair has become very nice. It becomes kinda straight and the weaves really wide- it looks really nice. Are there any good products that we could use so that his hair continues to stay that way?
    Or any tricks?

His hair was not taken care of before we started dating, and to be honest I didn´t even know that his hair could change that much just with a little treatment. (He is my first black boyfriend).

    Thanks for your advice :]

adding: brushing his hair when he comes out of the shower always makes it looks really nice- but how can it stay that way?
using my hairspray gives his head a "grey" shimmer..
using reg gel dries out his head and doesn´t make such a difference..
using lotion makes his weaves look really nice but it won´t stay for very long.
the best thing so far was putting coco butter on his head and brushing his hair with it. his hair gets really straight and thus his weaves are really wide and nice looking, the oil also gives his hair a healthy shimmer.

Next you'll request that he shorten his dick and become a Colbie Caillat fan.

I must admit that this post raised an eyebrow and evoked a chuckle as well, especially considering the "weavy" hair...

Just tell him to shave his head and be done with it. :smt042:smt042 That's what my man does, no fussing with hair products.

I don't know what "weavy" hair is, unless you're talking about an actual weave...

I think she might mean wavy.

naturally his hair is curly but if you brush it for a while (especially when wet or products in his hair) it creates wide weaves almost straight. do you know what i mean?

he doesn´t want to shave his head. i think it looks the best when super low cut but he likes it when you can actually brush it and see that it is taken care of. (still very short though).

In case it's like some 'big black secret'. Blacks can become offended when told that their hair must be straightened and/or treated with chemicals to become 'nice'. Our shit is naturally nappy (or curly) for a reason.

I wish we would just call it curly instead of nappy but paul is hilarious in that comment.

Ok...a 'weave' (pronounced 'weev') is artificial hair that is put in to make hair longer and/or more volumous.

Is that what you mean, or do you mean 'wavy' hair means the hair is not really curly and not really straight, but has a soft open curl...kinda like these pictures.

I prefer my man's hair natural and curly. :D I tried to get him to grow a big afro once but he hated it and cut it before it got very long. LOL

THIS is sexy to me. :D

Thank you, Sin..and Tam. I was honestly lost LOL

I think a man ought to wear his hair the way *he* likes it. I'm not his mother - I sure as hell won't style my hair to suit anyone but myself (but then I'm picky as hell about my hair).

Curly, dreads, shaved...it's all good - some ways look better on some people, but I figure by the time a man is an adult he's figured out what works for him. Same thing with facial hair. His face, his hair.

i was part of that 1% that couldn't get waves no matter how many stocking caps I tried

people still have that around here, but the big thing now is bald or close to it.
