I know there's only been a couple of episodes, but there's a weird chemistry/tension between Deb and Mike Anderson. He's the new detective at the Miami precinct transferred from Chicago, and he's giving her fashion advice, to dress more feminine, which she obediently agrees to do. Anyone else watching Dexter this season and get the sense the show producers are going to have these two in bed soon??:smt038
I watch the show and to be honest I'm not really sensing any vibes between the characters. However, we should remember that Deb did date a brotha a couple of seasons back.
I noticed that too but she did the black guy back in season 2 and left him for the old white guy fbi agent.
I thought something might be in the works too, but they always have Deb in the most dysfunctional relationships with men, so you never know.
yeah this is nothing new she gets the jungle fever from time to time i need to get back on my Dex tho..i fell off midway through season 5 btw she's a skinny ass mothafucka besides the fact that she's a white chick, she's nothing special
Why? They're two actors who've worked in close proximity for several years. That shit leads to off camera romances all the time. FYI I think that they've been separated for a while now. That shit must be awkward in the work environment. Anyway, I've been watching this show since the beginning, and I think the that new brother is going to get carved the fuck up sooner or later. They hinted a romance with Sgt. Dokes, but it never materialized. Then, they killed the brother off. After that, there was the other brother who got dumped for a senior citizen and had his skin carved off. Deb's character has been crafted by the writers to be even more dysfunctional than her emotionless, serial killer foster brother. If she starts to put the moves on this new nucka, he better run. It don't matter though. A show like Dexter is the last place I'd look to for a comforting depiction of any kind of relationship that reflects my own personal life.
I guess if you look at it from the perspective that they portray as brother and sister, then it could come off as a surprise. Sure, there have been a lot of couplings where they worked on the same set...but how often are they actors portraying siblings? I can't recall, but if the situations do occur, then they are minimal.
LOL I agree. :smt045 I don't like her, but 'her' Debra is slightly less annoying than the Debra in the book series.
Jennifer Carpenter was married to Michael C. Hall but they got divorced last year. They were actually only married for like 2 years, I think they eloped. ***SPOILER ALERT*** Anyway I was a bit surprised when they made her character the new lieutenant. I figured having to work in that type of role with your ex-husband playing your brother would be awkward. Guess I just assumed she'd be leaving after this season but who knows. Besides that I really do not want to see Deb in a relationship with another BM. It's pretty clear after 5 seasons that Deb has dysfunctional relationships with men who are no good for various reasons. And the guy she was with may have been black but he was described as "a lazy, unambitious, pot-smoking musician." Which he was. So I wonder what the message was there.
LOL - Maybe not a Jerome Johnson, but a Fuquan, perhaps? And you guys are right, she's as crazy as a road lizard on that show. I just thought that the relationships usually developed between actors who played love interests on the show.
