Oh, Lord. I dated an older version of you. Sorry, I absolutely disagree with this. I will always respect a man's love for his mother, but I wont play second fiddle and i'm not a drama queen. There's something to be said for "A man shall leave his father and his mother and cleave unto his wife and the two shall become one flesh."

I wouldn't have a problem with a guy having his mother #1. My son will always be my main priority so I wouldn't expect to be #1 when he's number... uhhh... five:mrgreen: (my family are really important to me).

I agree with you on this, if you're married, your mother shouldn't be the number one person in your life, your spouse should be. If you can't feel that way about your partner, then best to remain single, because chances are they aren't the right person for you. If my son gets married I absolutely expect him to put his wife before me, and I'll kick his butt if he doesn't. A parent is supposed to put a child first, however at the point children are grown they need to establish and live their own lives, as do their parents.

I'm not saying parents aren't important, and that they shouldn't remain present in your life as an adult, but I think putting them before your spouse is just paving the way for your marriage to fail. My ex-husbands family were particularly stupid about this, but somewhat in reverse. They put spouses first, then parents/siblings, then their own children. We always butted heads anytime that came up because that's just asinine IMO.

you both evidently are very dark and that is why you have such a problem with this thread...there is an underlying tone to your posts...first it was aren't these guys mulatto...bi-racial...they certainly aren't dark enough to be black...lots of twists and turns in your wording and tone that all leads down the same path...

just remember how you say that if one of the women is too passionate about something it must be because we have low self esteem...touche'

And this is why you are a liar. The only person I commented on was Wentworth Miller who if he never said anything you'd think he's white. You are divisive and down right disgusting. May we all learn from your bitter hateful nature. Back on ignore you go.

Wives and husbands leave like they were never there to begin with. Family like parents and children don't. It is what it is babe.

In most instances, no one is more important to a black man than his mother. The space between her and number two is wider than the universe.

The first time I heard Eminem I could tell he wasn't black, not from nasally voice of his but from the way he talked about his mother. I don't care how poor a relationship a brother has with his mother, he is unlikely to ever say some shit like that.

It all evens out. There are some really horrible parents and real azzhole kids and there are amazing devoted spouses.

Yeah but the highest rate of murder rape and theft is amongst spouses not parents and kids or between siblings. Something to ponder.

Yeah no kidding. I've yet to hear songs where a bm talks about killing his mom. Weird shit to me.

Then why, pray tell, are there so many single mothers raising kids by multiple fathers if parents never leave? Hmmm? And mothers have been known to leave their kids as well. As a mother, I don't see how they can do it, but they do. That statement just doesn't hold water for me.
