Knowing my beliefs, do you have to ask that? Like I said before, it takes way more faith than I could muster up to believe there is no God than that there is.

Of course I have to ask, because:

    1. There are people who believe in God also accepts the theory of evolution in its entirety because they can differentiate faith from fact. Secular thought has prevailed over the years and actually contribute to reason and logic far more than philosophical ideas based on religious or supernatural thinking of that kind.

    2. Your statement only belies within your convictions and not the reality. Plus, your statement would only make sense if you ground yourself in a fearing manner because of that very thing you believe. Reality-wise, we're all here and can live accordingly with consequences constructed by society and by the self.

    3. Simple individuals aren't bad people, but they are generally ignorant of the world and how things work.

    1. I am a creationist but I believe that evolution has a place within that theory.

    2. I have no idea what point you're trying to make.

    3. So, I'm simple, eh? And you're going to tell me that, at the ripe ol' age of 25, you know and understand how the world works? Oy. :smt120

    1. Creationism is the antithesis to evolution. So, your statement is contradictory.

    2. In short, to say that it takes more faith to be an atheist is a very absurd and disingenuous statement. And intellectually dishonest.

    3. If you're talking life experiences compared to you, then no I still have a lot more to explore. But if we're talking knowledge based on how the world works, then I could safely say yes. Call me arrogant, but that's how I am.

    1. Some time ago, I read up on creation vs evolution and found that many scientists believe the two can co-exist.

    2. I'm simply saying I don't have enough faith to believe that God doesn't exist. There is too much contradictory evidence, IMO.

    3. Thanks for clarifying.

We will likely never agree on this topic in my lifetime, but I respect your right to your beliefs and opinions. I still love ya, BBW. :) You're too darn cute not to love!

    1. That's a bit of a misconception. What's more accurate is that people can still believe in a higher being or exercise a religion personally, but also acknowledge that much of the known universe can be explained in a secular fashion.

    2. Now what evidence are you basing it on? Personal or factual?

    3. You're welcome.

I find knowledge and seeking answers through secularism is the most honest and beautiful thing. We can truly appreciate more of life that way when we can understand how things operate and work. I'll never be a dictator and force people to stop believing in their supernatural ideas, but at least exercise some reasonable understanding of other things and consider them as well.

    1. Fair enough.

    2. Both. I have read much over the years where science and medicine back up truths in scripture. And personally, I can't look at a beautiful sunset, for instance, and say that all happened by chance. Or believe that a snowflake, each one unique and different (like people) just "happened" into being. That's just too big of a leap for me.

Talkin' about Science and Planets, eh? This is my favourite topic! :D

So what's hot on this thread??? Any new planets found?? Any meteor showers?? (Yes I'm a huge nerd on Outer Space..I've been so facinated by it when I was younger.)

Hahaha, dear...read the first post on the page. A scientist took notice of a planet being formed.

Oh me oh my! Sounds like another adventure is waiting for the Astronauts! What fun to learn about new planets in the universe! :D (Yes I read the first post lol)

:p That would take a few hundred thousand years before we see that sort of technological advancement.

I agree with this. Next thing we'll know, there will be another planet in the system or in the universe that has life on it. I still think THAT is possible. But I'll leave the rest of the debate on yahoo lol xD

I would have to take some time & look at notes I have. Not dodging your question - just can't pull anything out of my brain at the moment. One thing had to do with circumcision and when it was performed. But I don't want to try to explain it w/out facts in front of me.
If your email is on your profile, I can send some stuff.

Regarding circumcision, studies have shown that it doesn't really make the penis any better.

I'm circumcised myself, but there's really no true benefits other than looking like a Pokemon or a naked mole rat.

It wasn't about whether it was better or worse, it was about the timing of the circumcision - how long after birth.
