Chai, I'm sorry you suffered what you did and lost a career that you loved. I pray that you have found some measure of healing. I think with any group of people, whether it be cops, doctors, lawyers, teachers, parents: you will always have those who abuse the privilege or don't uphold their duty. But they don't typically represent the majority.
hate ignorant shit i think damaged people should stay the fuck home, that goes for the woman and the employee....
Chai, I had no idea that's how policing ended for you. :smt056 I completely agree that MOST police are dedicated and damn good at their jobs. I've personally known more police than most of the posters in this thread will ever know in their lives. And you are absolutely right, MOST are good people dealing with complete shit-rats their whole careers, and they are STILL good people. EDIT: I haven't bothered to read the whole thread, just saw Chai's comment and the posts that followed it.
I know! I am not in jail and I am not bitter But thanks Athena....I was going to add something like that but I seem to be porcine so I left it alone lol
Thats you Athena.....a bitter woman! When I think about you that is the first word that comes to mind! lol
I have never had any bad experiences with cops, but it is out there indeed when a lot of black men speak on it. It could easily happen to me for simply being black. Here in New York City, its been in the news about cops that planted drugs on innocent people to raise their quota of arrests per departmental policy, big story on it here in the city. http://www.npr.org/2011/10/14/141362858/ex-cop-alleges-n-y-officers-planted-drugs-on-people In the outer borough of Staten Island a cop was charged for stopping a black man, based on the stop and frisk policy that New York City has, mistreating him and using racial slurs against him, then throwing him in a holding cell for the the 36 hour maximum period. Then telling friends he had "fried another n*****," http://www.silive.com/news/index.ssf/2011/10/staten_island_nypd_officer_cha_1.html It is scary to think as a law abiding citizen I could be subjected to these same actions randomly because of being a black male and come across the wrong officer at the wrong time and place. If these things are happening in New York City, imagine much less tolerant places that a black male dares to venture into.
Thank you sir. Some of these people just don't get it. I guess when white women start getting imprisoned unfairly and/or unjustifiably then maybe it'll be problem. I guess if you don't have to personally experience it, it doesn't really exist.
