The problem is he escalated it. with the bar. That's why he may lose the case. It looks gruesome though. The jury is going to see some guy beating two women down though.
I have to take the time to ask what goes through a woman's head to think that she can go woman to man. It is like a man thinking he can fight a bear or a bull one on one.

 

The problem is the competition just like business. Everyone can do it and quite easily. so you have a huge amount of lawyers. This ultimately is good for the employer. and they are very likely to pick ivy league lawyers.

There is that statistic that there are more people with bachelors degrees working as a waiter than all of the people in science with bachelors degrees. not much competition in science.

true...or engineering for that matter. Maybe because the level of difficulty is tougher due to all of that math and science. I think the lure of the JD is the possibility, how slim it may be, that you may end up working biglaw as an associate (or partner for that matter), making upwards of 200-300k/yr. You really don't see engineering jobs being thrown around like that in the mainstream, although they do exist.

Nothing is set in stone yet tho................I just need something I can go at realistically while working full-time.

This guy deserves to not spend one day in jail, he was defending himself, plain and simple. They made contact with him, they came behind the counter after him. He didn't touch them first or came out from behind the counter.

Don't physically make contract with someone else

Don't jump the counter acting like you are big and bad and come after someone doing there job.

This bring back memories. The EXACT same thing happened to me in high school. I was working at Burger King instead of McDonalds but the same situation.

I was initially charged with FELONIOUS ASSUALT AND BATTERY but the charges were eventually dropped because the people who started it were behind the counter, in the employee area.

If I had jumped the counter at them, it might have been different. But the assault happened in the employee area. There was blood mostly in the employee area so when they lied and said I attacked them first, evidence showed otherwise.

The guy came over the counter first because I wouldn't give him free food. They only had enough money to buy a few burgers and he tried to intimidate me into giving them more.

When he grabbed my shirt and started coming over the counter, I grabbed the fryer that we used to cook french fries and I started busting him in his head. When his sister and his moma came around the counter to help him, the sister started hitting me then I turned and started beating his sister AND his moma with the fryer.

The sister and mother then turned and ran. He was on the floor bleeding.

The only reason I had to do 100 hours of community service was because I kept beating him after the THREAT was over. I stomped him a few times when he was on the ground bleeding.

This video brings back memories of my youthful years in Detroit. Like one poster stated, its FIGHT or FLIGHT. Once I got into the FIGHT mode, it was hard to turn it off.

It worked out good for me because it was the sentencing judge, JUDGE MATHIS before he became famous on television, who suggested I join the military to harness my aggression. He said the next time, I may not be as lucky and could seriously hurt someone. He agreed I had every right to defend myself whether its from a male or female but the military will show you how to control that aggression.

Wow HE was charged??? That woman who kept screaming STOP ruined what was otherwise a perfectly entertaining video. Have to admit I always find it hilarious when belligerent individuals run their mouths and act out of pocket and then wind up paying a severe price for it.

Anyway the charges against that guy should be dropped. But I guess we'll see what happens in 2 days.

 

Here's my take (for what it's worth). The woman screaming "Stop" likely was eating on the other side of the restaurant when the commotion broke out at the counter (I didn't see her in the beginning of the clip). She probably waited to see if things would calm down, and seeing that there were a number of other people at the counter, (quite a few men, for instance), she probably figured people closer to the women might step in and try to calm things down.

But you will notice, when things got out of hand, it appeared to me that no one stepped up and went after those women. And I'm talking about the men. There were enough of them waiting in line, that had a few of them gotten involved instead of scattering, the incident may have been averted. The only one who DID try to stop anything was the woman screaming "stop" and everybody on here seems to want to find fault with her. As a woman, I would be reluctant to get into a brawl, even with other women, but you better believe I would be up there trying to do something, even if it was just screaming.

I'm ashamed of the women that went over the the counter for behaving as they did - there was no cause for that at all. And the cashier, who was defending himself, did go a little overboard, but I have to think it was that "fight or flight" instinct someone else mentioned. When the adrenaline is pumping, you don't always calm down as soon as the threat is gone. And I will give the lady who tried to stop things props, because she at least tried to do SOMETHING. No one else appeared to want to get involved.

 

That is the thing, those characters were acting like anything but women.

Who would want to get involved in that situation with them and their disgusting behavior, look at how they were conducting themselves, just funky as hell.

You try to get involved and then they turn around and attack you instead. I mean just look at what they did cursing the man, then hitting him, then jumping over the counter, that tells you about their mindset already.

I'm a man and would never jump over that counter, because I know better than that. What is their malfunction exactly. No common decency and respect and now they are paying a physical price for it.

 

Also growing up in NY you definitely know better. Motherfuckas don't play.

 

So why blame the woman who was, admittedly, uselessly screaming "stop?" At least she tried to do SOMETHING! And I still think, if a couple of guys had jumped over that counter, they could have subdued the women before the cashier went to the lengths he did to protect himself.
