Personally, if those two bytches came at me like that - slapped me and jumped the counter to come at me..for nothing!, I would have hopefully had the opportunity to have beaten them off me, like he did.
He better go with a jury trial. Or if not, a nice judge who knows the law.

His priors are going to fuck him with a jury. He better hope for a judge. People will only see convict despite the situation. That's how we operate

Well to his credit, he did yell "I said stay down" each time before he hit them.

Like you said had they been men or if he were a woman that wouldn't factor in at all. I've been in similar situations and I'm telling you fam your instincts are in control. Fight or flight is a real thing, most of us don't realize that since most of us are never in that situation to find out.
Personally I think they got exactly what they deserved and should get locked up for it. Its the man's place of business not some house party. How much was he suppose to endure before he should fight back. I seriously want the house feminists to weigh in on this.

Yep, and it's a bad one. Not like he drunk drove, for example - he shot his schoolmate - at 17!, for arguing. Outside a mall, no less. Dude has issues.
    Just not in this case.

Shit like this makes me wish I went into law. I would love to take a case like this pro bono.
Wait that gives me an idea,

To be fair to him that's black youth hood culture. And he did his time. That's why I hate the idea of priors being brought up in court. If you did your time that should be the end of it. Besides the idea that you can plea down for a lesser charge takes away the validity of presenting priors. If you can plea breaking and entering down to trespassing then what's the point.

When I was younger, new to this country and working at a mall food joint, I had a guy throw his marinara sauce from his mozzarella sticks at me because I didn't serve him quick enough. It splattered on the wall behind me too! [IMG]

Of course, I called the cops. Today, I throw it back!

you might be joking, but that would be a good case indeed.

they offer pro-bono cases for law students, and id think that a curious one would snatch that one up quickly

being a lawyer allows you to go into law do what you can from within, instead of sitting on the sidelines wondering 'what if'

Dude, you are hardwired to be a lawyer. Shocked that you aren't. Nothing escapes you.

Dead serious fam. I posted the video on my fb. Hoping one of my friends looks at it. Most of them are corporate and environmental lawyers but maybe they know someone. Dude is getting a raw deal. I love how the business threw him under the bus for defending himself. All it takes is one screaming asshole in the background and you're a serial killer.

I actually have a poli sci degree and planned on it but then got scared off by the loans and spending three years without earning any income.
I've revisited the thought recently though. Right now I'm focused on this applied math/economics thing but I'll see once I'm done.

To be fair, I would've have been that yelling white lady. I'm sure she was shocked. How often do you witness that kind of crazy in McDonalds?

everyone i talk to is constantly reminding me of the abysmal market for lawyers atm

i like the programs because they seem to be more flexible for working adults, offering you part time tracks at places like Temple or Rutgers, with both having solid law schools with good graduation placement rates within Philly/New Jersey

Oh yeah but the only way to make" lawyer money" these days is working corporate. You literalyy gotta help corporations fuck people to get some real money these days but my main motivation against is loans. Im already 30k down. I refuse to be one of those people who owe a six figure debt can only get mid fiver figure work. You start your career with a mortgage and no house. Its ridiculous. Been thinking med school if I don't finish the phd route. I am truly vain and arrogant enough to go through this shit just to be called doctor lol.

    same, haha

I was shocked to see how low public defenders get entry-level tho

not sure of the quality of this list, but as you can expect public defenders get shit, but the associates at notable law firms are getting cheddar cheese

law school is not cheap or easy, so you'd think these guys would make more money. But I guess the money starts flowing after you get time on the job, like medical doctors. They start off as the laughing stock of the hospitals, but their long-term projections are greater than most other professions and cap off in good six-figure territory, easily commanding 170-300k/yr depending on specialty.
