Ok I just sent you a req on FB (look for the sunset).. i'll email you about how you can get that show a bit later today.
Its going to a mini series so I will be keeping you guys posted. I will be watching another part a bit later. Great stuff and there's a lot that I didn't even know about my own city's IR history.
That is not surprising and inspite of some racial conflicts IR survived in the UK. I hope to see that documentary soon.
Caerdydd - thanks for the heads-up. Keep us posted. TreePixie - Some great shows on that network. But I'm not going to stop watching Burn Notice or Dexter either, lol!
OK again guys.. Just watched episode 2 of Mixed Britannia 1940 - 1965 This episode went into the history of Black American GIs that were stationed here during WW2. Plus the very shameful situation of Chinese sailors being forced back to China in dawn raids. Also started to touch on the British Female aristocracy and middle class and their "involvement" with the Jamaican men that had just arrived. Very very very interesting stuff, plus from a legal and social point of view the first anti-discrimination laws were talked about. Seriously get watching and downloading people. This kind of stuff should be shown in the schools. Next week its going to focus on the 70s/80s and the struggle for racial identity of the kids at that time. CAN NOT WAIT!!!!
just watched the first episode... once again BBC doing a great job, great material! and Brave women! even today you need to be, imagine back in 1905...1910. i`m very proud!
