Just watched a gem of a documentary on British IR relationships going back as far as 1910!!! :smt103 It featured heavily on my hometown Cardiff, Liverpool and South Shields. I knew Cardiff has always had a mixed history but 1910 is crazy. Damn those were some BRAVE women. I have nothing but the upmost respect and admiration for these pioneers. The men too. It was shown on BBC last week so unfortunately you good Ozzie, Continental and US folk won't get to see it unless you "search certain websites" :smt047 Treepixie this show is a must for you - great Cardiff history lesson
You have BBC America, which shows non BBC made programs as well. Run by BBC Worldwide and there to make money for the parent company and real BBC You barely have a fraction of what we have due to the TV license we have to pay. But of course being civilized you already knew all that.
Little Britain on BBC America, for example, is TOTALLY censored - they take out all of the (real, as in not "nude suits") nudity and racially insensitive parts such as the blackfaces lol... the real Little Britain is a regular perv-fest :smt042
It's on the BBC Iplayer page but it blocks non British IP addresses so as I said you have to acquire it through "other" websites. If you are not sure what I mean I will PM you saintaugusta
Oh I *know* what you *mean*, Caerdydd Though actually I don't know how to acquire it through other websites, no.
Sounds wonderful! I wonder if they'll DVD it - I have a region free player to feed my need for British drama. I also have Expat Shield, but it can be wonky. Do you know if the Beeb has this online in the UK? The Expat Shield lets me watch when it's working.
Then go forth and acquire sister.. There is going to be a whole season on Mixed Race Britain so I will keep you posted. Next week its going to be partly on the black British contribution to WWII. RAF pilots and stuff like that.
Expat Shield is software which converts your IP to a UK address, once it's running you can bring up BBC iPlayer and watch or download. Occasionally they block the IP address and it takes a little while the software to be updated, but it's pretty good. Some of my British friends turned me on to it ages ago, realizing that I have this addiction to British TV. I can't help it. It's genetic. :-D
Booo. I think I am possibly too stupid to know how to operate this high-faluting ExPat thingamajiggy. :smt089
If it's a series, there's also a decent chance they'll release it on DVD in the UK. I know not everyone has a region free DVD player, but I love mine so much I'd sleep with it if it had a dick ;-)
As I said already said to saint it is available from other sources so don't worry if expat doesn't work. I am acquiring it right now as we type lol.
