I don't think DK understands that many women are perfectly fine without a partner, and don't just glom onto the first available man if they don't have a relationship going on. I think his experience has been limited to the kind of women who do that.

I've probably spent equal amounts of time coupled and single in my adult life. Coupled has some nice benefits - companionship, regular sex, good conversation, mutual help.

But if you want your life easy, uncomplicated and run entirely by your own rules, putting men into the plaything category can't be beat ;-)

I don't think that at all but I am at an age where everyone is coupling up pretty quickly. I don't know anyone alone by choice.

My ex-husband was my friend first. He was the cousin of my best friend. I was not initially attracted to him so I put him in the friend zone after I turned him down for a date.... He was persistant though and after getting to know him better I eventually caved. Well the relationship lasted years...

But now I find it hard to allow someone to cross over that friend barrier, once they are in the friend zone I close off any attraction I may have..

I am with you FG, I won't break that barrier anymore.

I also am not quick to jump in the sac with someone without knowing them deeply, or if it is a monogamous relationship... I hate sharing you could say.. :smt018
