Nice... I applaud you for taking a step down knowing you would land up some place other than here. Not many men are willing to do that. I've a busa and that's why I no longer have it. Love the R1 and sticking with it.

You know African-American riders are more likely to die in a bike accident, even when wearing a helmet?

I think I got caught up in the POWER. But it SUCKS in corners. Or admittedly it was just me. I'm telling you The ZX14, FOR ME, was a lot harder to lean into and not go past the balance point. I had to lean the bike more because I needed to lower the center of gravity. The mass of the bike rides closer to the ground and I found I had less leverage to counter centifugal force...

I was either coming in too hot, or too slow, or too wide and I could never find the right groove.

...as with the Busa twisting a bike that big past 47 degrees and it was more me and my upper body countering and controling the bike than letting it pull it and and pull out tight.

I tracked it at Millersville NJ and ripped off 2,100 dollars worth of fairings, a left Yoshi, good set of leathers....AND MY PRIDE DAMNIT...MY PRIDE.

The R1 is STILL fucking beast. The ride is on the upper half of the bike...to high for my tall ass. I LOVE women riders!!

I have been riding bikes since I was 15. I have not owned a bike in about 8 years.. I had a tendency to go way too fast and in H-town, I just had too many close calls.

I am starting to eyeball bikes again tho, but if I buy one I may go for a Sportster and try to not go 500 mph:)

I'm 5' 9" and where heels making me over 6" tall on the R1.
I fit perfect with or without heels on that bike. Corners and straight racing no problems. It all comes down to comfort with the bike you ride. I've been blessed to ride since 98' with out any lay downs. I thank my father above and falling riders for watching over me.

I used to ride about 10 years ago. Had a nice, hopped up 750 gixxer. It left me and every piece of bike in the street. Thank God for leather. Two small scars. Great eye opener, I had a newborn at home. Nice bike TiGGz, hold em down!

You are right....ride comfort. I'm straight Kawi rider. This will be my 5th. Started off on a 250 two stroke Honda NSR and just kept going up and up and up. I've been riding since 91 or so.

That's how it always starts. I had a KZ750 (1977) for my first bike; cruiser. Bought a Secca 600II, ZX600, CBR900RR, GSXR1300R, GSXR750, and now my R1 and Ultra classic Harley.

Yeah it was quick man, when I first started I didn't know what the hell Iw as doing. I figure it was the smallest bike I could learn on.

You are right again........I started riding in Japan and they didn't have the bike here.

....but I took my lil 500 out to Millversville and I was still killin' em. there is a place up here call Pinnalce Moutain, about 18 miles form the base to the moutain. Getting there, yeah, my buddies on ZX10 and Gxr's and smokin' me. We get on the mountain and I'm coming out of the corners on the outside and walkin' them.
