Obama was right. Black folks need to stop complaining and step their game up. I got laid off in 08...I went back to school for a new career under the dislocated worker and worker retraining program and now I am back to work. I stepped my game up because I knew that if a repub was in office, the money to help me get back into the game would not have been there. In fact a repub could care less about anybody thats not rich and would be fine with me fighting with mexican immigrants for menial jobs....damn my skills and the potential I have to do so much more. Black folks better wake up or get left behind for good.

On Senator Waters

I also find it ironic that Senator Waters ended up doing exactly what Obama wanted her to do with the CBC job fairs in their districts. I hate it when people's thinking is short sited. The CBC should have been doing this back when Obama first got elected and said that he couldn't turn the economy around by himself. What they did instead is sat on their hands like typical short sited black folks and waited to be told what to do by a so called "Leader". Obama already told them but since the economy did have a turn around, they sat on the side lines spectating and criticizing..."Obama needs to do more for the black unemployment."...my question was what were THEY doing?...and now they want to come out and cause discourse within the democratic party because they couldn't be patient, even though they waited until the 11th hour to FINALLY give the Pres a hand. Senator Waters needs to sit her ass all the way down and shut the hell up.

Obama did do something for black folks who got laid off...it was 16 billion dollars dropped into education along with making sure no body of color would be denied an opportunity at it. The problem is people are afraid of change. They rather wait it out and find a job doing exactly what they did before with out so much as entertaining the thought of changing careers. If you don't remain flexible in your thinking and your career choices, you WILL be left behind.

I have heard of Maxine Waters, a black congress woman from Cali.

Your opinion mirrors my own. Education (in most fields of study) is essential for our not only our prosperity, but everyone's. We need to increase our flexibility and make some sacrifices so we (as a race) have the ability to improve ourselves socially, financially, and fundamentally.

Senator Waters is making a mistake and instead, she should rally in favor of Obama. Obama is even issuing executive orders to by-pass the Congressional approval of what he wants to House Republicans, such as McConnell, McCarthy and Boehner.
