The only disagreement I have with that quote is the reference to 1980. I think that, at least outside of the deep south, you could move that back to 1960 or a little earlier for *many* people. Not all, to be sure, but when I first started working I ran into interracial couples who were then in their 30s, and this was back in the mid-1970s. Admittedly I was working in an artsy environment at the time, but no one ever said peep about it.

 

Very true, the vast majority of racists in the UK tend be more ignorant rather than having blind hatred for us black folk. The reason we in the UK don't understand the situation in the US is simply the respective histories of Black America and Black Britain could not be more different. Black Britain didn't suffer KKK lynchings and Jim Crow laws. Plus we didn't have to fight for our rights in the Civil Rights movement.

Also here in the UK, regardless of what colour you are you can date anyone you want without larger social pressures. You might have to deal with the negative views of some people close to you but that could happen anywhere.

I have been attracted to WM before I even knew what attraction was or meant. As I have said in another post I'm only 29 but a WM veteran already and still hopefully a long way to go. Where some BM on here may or may not have "issues" with BW because of their past experiences with them. I will happily admit I have "issues" with BWW (British White Women) its not a racial thing but rather a cultural one. I could go into detail but I don't want to bore people and go off topic too much. So for me I would like to have a relationship with an EWW (European White Woman) because they tend to share similar values to my own. Plus their accents are beyond sexy (french women in particular)

very true, i can remember my time on the myspace forums years ago, used to be nothing but bm and ww bashing constantly, especially by a few individuals, evn other IR couples would join in aswell that were not bm and ww

tis alot better in the uk, alot of people are not so intimidated by it, there will be the odd few who cant take it, but majority of the time no one cares, usually because they would get their head kicked in for saying shit lol

It doesn't matter what race you are really. It all boils down to the persons personality = how they were raised. Everything I've read relates to a nasty face, nasty mouth, to good to do this or that, etc... No matter what color you are it all boils down to what that person is looking for in a woman/man, white, black, indian, etc... If you are attracting these people then look in the mirror because the reflection is what attracted them to you!

I love me a black man b/c that's what I'm attract to sexual and physically. I'm not attracted to a black man who is a thug, punk, acts like a child, un-educated, nasty to woman, etc. It's boils down the "Personality" within each living human-being!

I don't settle for 2nd best - I'm worthy of more.

 

And I'm not white - I'm European, German, Brisith Columbian and more. My family loves many races as you see.

Yeah, the guy is basically saying that we (collectively) as a race are ugly (by saying we look like a fruit that fell off a tree) and that's why he was upset that these ugly blacks (as he calls it) are with beautiful white women.

If you view this thread here, this particular IR relationship perpetuated the most outrage and increased the animosity level (generally) with the way others (more-so WM than BW) view interracial relationships between white women and black men.

The kinds of people with that mind frame simply think that black people are ugly and deserve no other woman except a black woman as a dating choice. That's one crucial reason for the animosity.

 

Alot of British people don't consider themselves European at all. The UK might be in Europe and be part of the EU but for many they are either British, English, Welsh or Scottish.

As for British women they are nothing like the women in mainland Europe. I was seeing a Polish girl recently and found straight away that I had more in common with her than with girls from my hometown.

I don't want to say all British women are the same cos that would be very stupid and very unfair. But I definitely have a strong preference for EWW and for good reason.

The lady speaks the truth, in fact for the most part there's no such thing as "inter-racial" dating in the UK. Its not an issue that is discussed in the media ever because there is nothing to discuss.
