Rock climbing, lifting, golf, walking, running, tennis, martial arts, yoga...there are lots of ways to work out together.
Outside of yoga(which I totally suck at lol) and golf which I don't play and climbing I feel like i'd have to hold back. We had the martial arts discussion and to me there's no point. Besides all that I find physical activity to be meditative. I don't get as much out of the journey when I do it with others. People tend to judge far more than they help.
I agree with you completely here, Pixie. Also, there's no reason not to be able to interact while a couple run together. You can converse while running. My brother and his wife have run in several road races together, everything from 5K's to 1/2 marathons.
I see lots of flab. I think the difference to you and some other men is simply where a woman is fat at which is completely genetics. What I see you saying is fat is ok as long as it's in the feminine areas (hips, thighs, breast) but fat is not ok in other areas (belly, arms, face, etc) although big women generally do have fat in those places too it just doesn't look as apparent when what your really focusing on is the hips and thighs.
I found climbing ideal, especially indoors. My last LT bf and I climbed together a lot. I was by far the better climber, and had done it a lot longer. But there was no reason he couldn't belay me on harder climbs I was doing, and I could belay him (and coach a bit as he was learning) on easier climbs. When I climbed with men at or beyond my own level, we were able to push one another as well. I know I'd be in better shape right now, MS or not, if I had a work out partner. I love climbing, which I can't really do anymore, but making myself lift bores the hell out of me, so a partner is really a help in keeping me on track.
I actually agree with you... Many years ago I had a girl friend who was a competitive bodybuilder and she was stronger than a lot of guys. We used to work out together often and I enjoyed it.
I agree with you too.. The fat in the areas like butt, hip are always welcome. The fat in the stomach, arms etc are fine, as long as there is that hourglass shape. So the woman in this picture is fat, but there is still that shape.
