How Often Do You Bathe/Shower?

There's nothing nastier than a person who has poor hygiene, especially those who don't shower or bathe daily. You have to smell presentable in order to even start a conversation without just about anyone in order to lessen an already guarded wall.

I know someone who's mother doesn't bathe daily. In fact, she hardly bathes ever. And yet, her profession is in sales and if you're to work in a place like that, covering it up with perfume won't solve a damn thing. Looking presentable is one thing, but BEING presentable is of utmost necessity when you're trying to court or sell a product. Having said that, her supervisor told her go home because she's emiting a foul odor that's worse than a skunk flavored condom drenched in fecal matter and horse radish.

Anyway, I must ask all of you thing: How often do you bathe? And do you feel that bathing of oneself shows pride in oneself?

Every day, unless I'm sick or just chilling at home by myself. I will also shower sometimes before bed depending on what I was doing during the day. (Or what I hope to do when IN bed! Lol!) I like to feel/smell clean & fresh!

 

Every day for sure! As soon as I get up in the morning I shower, thats what wakes me up. I also shower after i run and sometimes after school. I often throw a bath in there as well. lol

I love the feel of water so any reason for me to get in it I am ready!

 

2 times a day, max is 3 but when I really get into my videogames I'll go days without bathing.

 

I hit the "hot spots" every day with a full service shower every other day.

 

I shower when I arise in the morning and again after I work out in the gym and have been physically active. Also, prior to intimacy, as a rule.

I don't think bathing reflects concerns about pride. Fundamentally, I believe it reflects a Westernized cultural ritual. We view "clean smelling" people as more desirable in all aspects of our society, and it's often seen as a sign of class.

Armpits and groin area are the places that should be kept clean everyday.

Full body showers 2 or 3 times a week depending on how much sunlight you get.

 

Same here, Chai. Always once a day, but it depends on how many times I workout a day. Lately I've been doing cardio in the morning and then weights/cardio in the afternoon, and I always shower after workouts. I don't do baths much, usually only if I've injured something and need to soak, or if I'm really cold.

I also agree with Swirlman, it's not a matter of pride. But I also don't do it to feel desirable, it's a matter of just desiring to be clean for me. It bugs me not to shower, I just feel yucky and I find it hard to do much of anything, I guess it's a distraction. I also have a really finely attuned sense of smell and I cannot be around anyone who smells unclean, or who doesn't have clean teeth. It completely grosses me out.

I'm also with Swirlman on the showering and intimacy thing, nothing beats those days where you spend all your time either in bed or in the shower. :grin:

Honestly I cannot recall going a single day in my life without showering.

I used to see it all the time in college. Kids would roll out of bed, spray their boxers (in the case of one of my roommates) and off to class he went. I used to shake my head at him.

I'm such a neat freak that when he left clothing lying around the room I would just kick it under his bed on his side of the room.

College environment teaches you a few things about dealing with dirty folks.

I was actually going to mention that bathing more than once a day is not as HEALTHY as people believe. It removes a protective layer that the body creates . People who bathe more than once a day often suffer common ilness more than those who bath once a day.

I bath once a day. When I wake in the morning. I generally go to the gym at 0530 so I get up......brush the fangs and head to the gym...shower when I'm done. If I was doing somethings sweating or hard work during the day I rinse off before I go to bed.

 

Time to get my rubber duckie and scented bath oils.
