I'm glad some of you liked it, I thought it was cool. The important thing is, if she liked it or not.

You are right - I applaud this, he's promoting IR.

This guy is to admired because he went out and got what he wanted..her undivided attention. Sure she seemed a bit blushed but she will never, ever forget him.

I was just at the Penn State vs Temple football game today and it was 80% college kids...they are so curazy acting and full of hormones - trust me when I say this wasn't over the top, and her girls will be swooning and yakking about this show of affection towards her for ages.

She seemed so gracious and respectful and responsive to him. All round :smt023

    Thank you. Exactly!
In an age when kids sext and make sex tapes its actually refreshing to see a dude be respectful and have fun with approaching a girl.
I admire that and hope to see that more especially with young black dudes and white girls.

I don't consider that respectful though. Respectful would have been asking her if she was okay with it, thereby not subjecting her to that publicly in the event that she wasn't. But it looks like it's running fairly even between women who would appreciate that type of display, and those who wouldn't, so if that's your thing go right ahead. I just find that type of thing tacky, particularly in front of cameras, it makes it seem like it's more about drawing attention to yourself, or putting someone on the spot.

Don't you think that comes with celebrity though? I mean I doubt Ashton asked all those people he punked if they cared if they looked like idiots on cam. In the celeb world the all publicity is good prevails. I would rather have someone worship me on camera than make me look a fool. :smt042

And must add so happy Espy is posting again. :D

I guess it doesn't matter to me who you are, I don't think anyone should try to embarrass or put you on the spot. I'd have kicked Ashton's ass too, I do not take to things like that well. As I said, I'm very private and I don't do public spectacles or jokes, it's one of the few things I just have no sense of humor about at all. I honestly doubt even my sense of politeness would have allowed me to endure that to the finish, but if it did, I would certainly ensure it never happened again. I just think it's rude to subject someone to something without knowing for sure if they're alright with it. And I wouldn't want to be worshiped on camera, that's just not my thing.

And let me add, I missed you too, Jordan.

I wouldn't find it respectful either. I would definitely feel put on the spot, which I think isn't a nice thing to do to someone, & that's a feeling I wouldn't appreciate. It would embarrass me & irk the hell out of me to be approached in such a lame & tacky way. I don't find show off behavior appealing, & that type of display in front of an audience is exactly what that is to me.

To each his or her own, though. If a woman likes that type of thing & a man likes to do things that way, more power to them.

I think a man is taking a huge chance of offending a woman if he doesn't know whether or not she'd be okay with this type of approach.

I think the fact that she's a celebrity is why she handled it as gracefully as she did.

    I agree.

Nobody is attacking him or the ladies who'd like that, Drae. We're simply responding to your original question, "Ladies Would This Win You Over", & that's personally how I'd take it.

It's not my thing, but if it's someone else's thing, it doesn't bother me because it doesn't affect me. ;)

    Couldn't agree with you more.

These days, men do MUCH WORSE things to try to embarrass women. Like spread lies or intimate details about them, or private pictures, or even if a woman is walking down the street, some of the sexual comments made (or teased if the woman doesn't have the right look, beauty wise)..she will hear it - in front of other people too, for sure.

If this is the worse of something that would "embarrass" a woman, then bring it on. ;)

It sure does. I would prefer this to being truly embarrassed by someone trying to make me look like a fool, rather than someone expressing that they admire me.

Besides, serenading goes waaay back to Italian medieval times, so he's just carrying on a romantic tradition.

Not to mention that we as a society serenade all the time when we do tribute shows or concerts to stars, Presidents, singers, military. A serenade is just publicly showing someone how you admire them. No harm, no foul.

;) No matter what a select few may say, a woman loves to be shown she is appreciated...

It even happens on forums board..blogger/s publicly show appreciation and admiration in front of thousands or millions towards someone or something they post - and its lapped up like honey by the recipient/s, lol! :D

He was suppose to take her to a small room where no one could see and politely ask her out lol
