I might start posting in here regularly when possible to take some off the burden of P in keeping this thread going. No promises though. Original Pencil drawing & computer colored version of an altered Spider-Man costume design. Unfinished Supergirl drawing. Added the color just for the hell of it.
Well, I finally managed to get some clean lines...I'm still iffy about the colors, but I've been working on this on and off for that last four days, and I'm just tired of looking at it. lol So it's done, for now. Took me fooorever to do the lines in Illustrator, but I think I'm getting better at it, finally. Ra, have you ever made any sculptures? I think your style would make some pretty ba maquettes.
I prefer to do my lines in photoshop because you can alter the line weight and have different fading effects, solid work though
It's funny that you would ask about sculpting because I've had various people through the years say the same thing about my design style but I haven't fiddled with any sculpting or sculpting materials since junior high. Closest I've come to sculpting since was a few years back with Play Doh fooling around with the twins. Nice sketch.
She's an artist and if she anything like myself she's nitpicky about her art. Where others see just the art, most artist see their "flaws" & "mistakes" when they look at their work even when it is finish & to their satisfaction. I guarantee she can tell you what's "wrong" with it from her perspective even though you,I and other see it as just fine.
My beautiful ex roommate... Ok that's enough for today, my hands are starting to cramp! lol thanks for the compliments, guys, I wasn't sure if I liked this "painted" style, but I'm enjoying it more and more. And, as for the coloring on the other one with clean lines...yeah, I just..I dunno...it's not what I wanted...it just looks like the coloring can be better, so I'll rework it someday...for now it suffices, and it's definitely on it's wzy, I'm just not satisfied yet. I'm super picky about my work and rarely am I completely satisfied with a piece... ...also, as an fyi, a lot of my pieces are available as prints..I only get 20 percent, but I don't gotta buy nothing. Deviantart offers the service for free, so it's a win win for me...So, ya know...if anyone would happen to want something I've got posted up at disposableheroine.deviantart.com I could make the print available...>.>
Thanks, love! I'm really happy with the pieces I've been doing lately...I've had this crazy surge of creativity that's been nice. When I finish a few more things I'll share my demo reel...it's looking soooo much better than the first one I did. I'm hoping to get actual motion graphic or animation work soon, these pictures are fun and look nice, but aside from commissions they aren't helping me pay the bills. lol Though I do have two, maybe three commissions for the last style, but they're from my aunt so I can't charge my "professional" prices. >.<
You're welcome. You are wonderfully talented, so you should be happy. I'm excited for you; that creative surge is producing some awesome pieces. I'm looking forward to seeing your demo, too. I hope you find the work you're looking for soon. As talented as you are, any company would be lucky to have you. I applaud you for working so hard to get the career you want where you can be happy using your gift. Hopefully you'll also get some more commissions that don't have to have the family discount applied.
Cooperative effort between me and my bf. He did the original lines, I did the colors (Photoshop) and the inking clean up (Illustrator) I have an image in my mind. It's been there for a few weeks now. I may finally make it tonight. Not sure, though. It's a difficult piece emotionally, but I feel the need to create it. We'll see.
Thanks so much for your kind words, it really means a lot. I'd post up my demo, but I still need to edit out my name. I use my full name professionally (First, middle, and last) and I don't want that just blatantly put all over this site...and I've been a bit lazy about editing it out. It's getting there, though, and I guess the next time I edit in some new footage I will go ahead and remove the name completely so I can share it. I'd love it if some commissions came in soon. It'd be lovely. But until then, I'll just keep hoping for a f/t position or at least some print sales.
You are very very talented Persephone.... You amaze me with your skill with each and every picture...
