What needs to happen are pictures of her with a brotha with her either........

-sitting on his lap
-hugging and embracing
-kissing
-on the beach with her in the bikini doing either or all of the above.

And if there is a sex tape with her in it.....OOOHWEEE!

If or when that happens........she might as well call it a wrap.

 

It is salacious for the reasons you outlined, but I also think there's an element of "Girls gone wild" in the reporting which is wholly not right. There was a huge stink during the last election that she may have been pregnant when she got married. Who gives a shit, really? It's both racist and double-standardish.

If Rick Perry had slept with Halle Berry in college, he would NOT be taking heat for it.

Palin doesn't surprise me because she's a big fat hypocrite. Bachmann, I'd be shocked. Considering her pray-away-the-gay husband sets off the gaydar of every gay & lesbian person I know (as well as mine) I suspect Bachmann hasn't ever had an orgasm in her life. She had a reputation for vindictiveness as governor of Alaska. The extra-marital affair rumor was well discussed during the 2008 campaign and I tend to believe it. I also think it's unlikely she never at least tried coke.

I really detest being put in a position to defend that woman, but I just dont think her sex life is anyone's business but her own.

 

I certainly understand your stance, especially considering your position on morality, and I don't make that reference in a bad way.

However, as it pertains to politics, and a candidate positioning themselves in a certain way, as morally upright for the purpose of securing votes, isn't it appropriate that those among her constituency are aware of this fraud, if it's in conflict with her image?

Shouldn't the voters be entitled to make informed decisions about people they're supporting?

I would also assume that you feel the same way about people like Strom Thurmond, who fathered a biracial child despite his outspoken and racist leanings, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Clinton, Anthony Weiner and so many others?

Conservatives and the GOP are always hypocrites when it comes to race. I hear no peep from Palin,yet on her thing for brothers. Rice had his slam dunk on her and Palin in her part got that Swirl.

 

I completely understand what you're saying. Her no-sex-before-marriage stance is definitely up for discussion. A politician who takes an anti-gay rights stand and then is caught with a rent boy? Total hypocrite, and deserves to be outed.

I think Palin could make the argument (which is undoubtedly as phony as the rest of her) that she learned through her own mistakes that premarital celibacy is the way to go.

I just think there's a whole lot more substantial issues to go after her on than the choice of her bed partners.

Weiner REALLY disappointed me because what he did was fucking stupid as fuck, and we progressives needed his voice in Congress. I think there's also a double standard - Vitter still serves after the diaper/prostitute thing. It's like it never happened. I never thought Clinton's sex life was any of my business, I didnt care who was blowing him or if they did it while he was on the phone with the UN as long as he did his job. Schwarzenegger didn't surprise me - he was long known to be a misogynist dirt bag with little respect for women. But most of that information had been out there for decades and the voters did not seem to care. Strom Thurmond was a racist gasbag - the fact that he fathered a child with a black woman skeeves me the hell out for her, because sleeping with a racist must be ten times worse for a black woman than it would be for me. His stand on issues alone was enough to disqualify him from consideration in my book.

 

I think he is an embarrassment to humanity.

 

Let's not forget Elliot Spitzer. He's a huge hypocrite but us progressives lost big time when he stepped down. One of the biggest losses to the cause since.... RFK

 

I'd put John Edwards right at the top of the list. He could have done so much good. I have a friend who is a political activist and party chairman where she lives and she met him in 2008. She told me he had more charisma than anyone she'd seen since JFK, and she'd gone into the meeting thinking little of him. She came out solidly in his corner.

Broke my heart when he got caught being stupid like that. If you're a politician for crying out loud, keep it in your pants. It shouldn't be news if you fool around but it WILL be. Don't disappoint the people who are working with and for you to make progressive changes.

 

Wow I forgot about Edwards good point. I knew more about Spitzer since he was the Governor of Ny. He was the truest progressive I've seen in years well besides Edwards now that you bring him up. He was about poverty and accountability. I also like when these dudes have their own money because they aren't as likely to be swayed by corporations. Kind of wish Bill Gates would run for office. He would never need a nickle in campaign contributions.

 

You know what a cynic I am when it comes to politics. Edwards is the only politician to whom I've given campaign money. When he popped up in 2004, I thought "FINALLY! Someone who gives a damn about poor people." The work he did between 2004 and 2008 only solidified that for me. I was truly heartbroken when he screwed up so badly (besides which I also thought his wife was an amazing woman who surely did not deserve to be publicly humiliated, and that pissed me off too.) I still have no clue what he was thinking, but I believe he said it best himself when he noted that he did it because he could. His ego and his libido got the better of him, and I'm afraid that happens far too often in politics. About Bill Gates, I can't imagine *anyone* wanting to sleep with him, so maybe he'd be a safe choice :smt043

 

If people can forgive Newty leaving his wife with cancer, they could do same for John Edwards...
