I've been to several Arab countries and many Arabs are hostile to blacks. Many of them call blacks "abeed" (Arabic for 'slaves'). Some of the most racist individuals I have met were Arabs

 

The rebels have been spreading propaganda amongst their ranks that all foreign blacks in the country are Qaddafi mercenaries. This has led to many of them killing blacks indiscriminately. There were a couple of other stories about this early in the summer, but it got buried because the people who are deposing Qaddafi are supposed to be the "good guys," and the media in this country doesn't do nuance.

Black Africans are being killed and lynched in the streets by the rebels. for being black. thats all. they aren't mercenary they are workers.
