I'd say that movies like Colombiana, Wanted or Tomb Raider are laughable at best. Not to sound sexist but there is no way in hell that chicks like Zoe Saldana or Angelina Jolie could ever beat up big guys. Just not possible. Thats why I'm sorta worried about the new Batman movie. It has Anne Hathaway playing Catwoman . Christopher Nolan's Batman films are supposed to be somewhat realistic and when you have a slim chick beating up ripped bad guys, its sorta a stretch.
Its movies. come one.. its entertainment.. underdog gets to kick ass. Realistic.... Hmmmm....I don't think those movies would sell if you had big Bertha was the main character. These movies aren't deep.... so wanting it realistic is sorta silly. I haven't seen Colombiana, but I think Zoe is cool as hell and I want to see it. I do agree to some extent apparently because I was not watching Nikita because girl is 98 lb and don't look tough. At least Jolie looked buff in that movie and had some cool moves and have that mean attitude.
To be fair Nikita is pretty good. I watch it and you do have a point its no more far fetched when one guy beats an entire army of trained soldiers. That shit ain't believable either I just hope the script is good and no cheesy one liners like "who's your daddy now". Just saw Mr and Mrs Smith last week and that line made me cringe, is that really the kind of lame shit that entertains people these days?
I don't think that is sexist, just silly, as I said - its just movies - Making those movies realistic, with whom? Big Bertha? Then you guys would complain about that. Cant win. Toombraider had mostly young male audiences. Many men want to see a sexy girl kick ass in a fantasy movie. Its hot.. or so they say. You guys need to take a chill pill.
Oh I am well aware of that BUT its laughable at best. Another example is Kickass(where a 12 yr old girl beats up the Mafia). If anything I find it funny at how laughable it is.
I hated it because she was rail thin... It didn't work for me so Im guilty somewhat of you guys thoughts on this. I agree on on the other part w one guy beating up a whole army etc... I just like a good action w lots of shit blowing up and lots of fights... Mr and Ms Smith was kinda eh. One cheesy line and the movie is sorta done for me... I hate that shit. I have to admit I often get frustrated over romance in action movies.. I feel like its adds noting to the story many times) and is not remotely realistic.... lol, world is hinging on your kicking ass and your kissing a girl??? "come oooooonnnnnnnn" and feels like they are just filling out time - get on w it!! LOL LOL
I know that I think that was kinda a cool movie just because she was 12 lol, not realistic at all and totally silly.
Depends. I loved the romance parts of The Matrix and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. A woman who loves you so much she's willing to off anyone who comes near you is sexy. In those scripts the romance was necessary it added to the story imo
It was alright imo. Took its self a little too seriously towards the middle and the end. The girl that played Hitgirl was definitely a good actress (saw her in Let Me In which was good)
She's gonna be a problem once she's of age. She can genuinely act and she's really pretty. I saw her on a guest episode of 30 rock and home girl killed it. She has a long career ahead of her like Natalie Portman
I liked the romance in Crouch Tig, but I don't know why, it got to me in Matrix. I hated that part of the movie. Although she was a very cool character.
It wasn't some arbitrary none sense it fit the story well. I guess I'm biased its my favorite movie of all time. I carry a copy every where I go
That was beneath you, dear. Of course I know what martial means, and you know that. You're missing my point.
That's pretty much the point of the article I posted. The new Batman is bulking up, Anne Hathaway described her Catwoman diet as "dust and dreams." A size 0 woman isn't likely to have enough muscle to take on vacuuming, much less Batman.
