When you're talking SEA martial arts, it's not just a strength thing. Speed, flexibility, balance - other things come into play. It's not like a boxing match. I've seen this between the two of them, and there's no way he was faking, the shock on his face was hilarious. I doubt most guys would want to take her on regardless of size. She's also fast as hell with weapons. They routinely spar blindfolded with knives - did a demo of that at their wedding reception.

Yeah, it was an interesting wedding!

wut?? boy, that is oldfashioned!! !!
There are plenty of really fit and muscular women that can do that job, and well. That has been proven again and again.
Most women will not chose those jobs so I don't think you have to worry.

They should make a movie with a woman beating up nothing but a bunch of women since movies so often portray men only beating down other men.

It would be so un-PC to see a movie of a man beating up a bunch of women.

I just feel more confident in men doing jobs like that. Women as authority figures don't carry the same presence as a man would. I'm not saying there isn't a woman on earth who can do the job that's false but the women they usually hire at least here in NY aren't big and strong enough to get my respect as an authority figure. They got chicks 5'4 120 lbs trying to control situations and they always have to be paired up with men. I've yet to see two female cops controlling a situation. I guess if they hired more 6ft 200lb chicks then I'd be ok with it but little people in general should try to be authority figures.

As far as firefighters are concerned I want the 200lb dude with no neck to come in and rescue my family not a 150 lb girl. They don't have the same upper body strength.

Everything is pc that's why in call of duty you never see them killing black people ever. You won't see a white person killing a bunch of black people in a movie unless its based on race. Truthfully a dude beating a bunch of women isn't entertaining anyway to me

LOL. I think that you were born about 5 decades to late my friend. Your concepts of women are so outmoded in modern civilization. The idea that women don't carry the same presence as authority figures is laughable, not to mention wholly sexist. It reminds me of the street interview I saw of a Southern White man prior to the election of Obama. When asked what he thought about Obama he replied that he didn't have the mental capacity to be president, see the analogy. Reality is whatever you choose to see in people, and often it's misplaced.

I wonder if you would view a man of equivalent height as lacking the presence to lead as well. As for policemen, again, there're smaller male policemen as well. Not everyone of them takes steroids and stays in the gym. On the subject of height, Bruce Lee was only weighed 135 lbs and was small, though ripped. I doubt however, that you would have told him that he didn't have the presence, of course no one spoke to him like that for fear of losing teeth.

Good leaders don't need a physical personae, whether in service or business areas. There're people who respect others, know their business and inspire people to do their best, period.

Btw, I would be willing to bet that there're women, who are smaller than you, that could whip your butt six ways to Sunday. If they are trained boxers or Martial artists, you would be in big trouble my friend. I should quickly point out that I don't necessarily mean someone who weighs 100 lbs, but someone who weighs 135 lb and up, oh yeah.

Thank you my friend. I don't think my lovely friend Drae understands that he actually is sexist at times. He writes it off as facts, but its not really, he just goes to extremes and view things as very black and white.

(sorry Drae that I'm not speaking directly to you as I'm responding to Swirlie)

We still love him tho. I sorta see him as my little brother:)

I just usually don't argue w him because he is one of the most stubborn people I "know".

I don't think anyone is arguing that men, in general are stronger than women, but Drae is going a bit far with that argument. The general woman can not be a police or firefighter but there are still plenty women that could out do a lot of male police officers and firefighters.

I leave that authority comment alone.. I thought that was hillarious... 50's here we come:)

    Sorry Drae:mrgreen:

I'm going to respond to both you and FG in this post since you guys love selectively reading lol. I respect you both but lets be real that Obama comparison and the one I made about women authority figures is a false equivelancy. I'm talking about actual physical ability not perceived ability. Criminals are more likely to do dumb shit with a cop they think they can over power opposed to one they know will give them a challenge and like I said if most female cops were those physical exceptions that were 5'10 and above 160 lbs then I'd be all for it but there's a shit load of girls 5'2 to 5'5 walking around like they got big balls and its laughable. I just know for me and most people when there's social break down I would feel happier with men stronger than myself protecting me and mine.

I know I come across sexist but I'm not I often love being around women who are smarter than me and who can teach me something. Just got my ass kicked in chess the other night by one of my female friends but when it comes to the world of physicality I respect what I know and have experienced to be true. I grew up doing Oyama karate and we had sparring sessions with the women and it was a flat out joke. We had to punch at half strength and slower speed to not hurt them. Not to say the female brown belts and black belts weren't great at forms and katas and awesome with weapons but when it came to fighting it wasn't a contest. I remember doing a class where we were punching focus mitts and I was punching light because I didn't want to hurt my partner when actually punched with full force I lifted her off her feet so when I say this shit it's not from ignorance guys.

Btw Swirl comparing a 135 lbs man to a 135 lbs woman is another false equivilency. Men naturally have more upper body strength. I'm sure there are cases where it probably happened but more often than not its not even close. Again there's a reason why they separate men and women in sports and its not to protect egos from possibly losing to women.

So how would you feel about a woman as president? Or for that matter, as your boss?

I have to spread my love around before I can rep you again, Swirl. On point.

Not a smidge of selective reading on my end. I hear you loud and clear, Mr. black and white. LOL. But as I said, I gave up discussing w you a long time ago, but every now and then I speak up on things you say. I still love ya, you nut.
On a more important note, how are things going?

Which is EXACTLY what the guy who thought black men dont have the brains to be president would have said.

Darlin' man, I adore you, but you *are* sexist. Seriously. And you won't even consider that you might be.

Oddly, though, you're one I think there's hope for, because you are willing to at least consider a woman could occasionally outhink you ;-)

Ah, Ra, I can't spread it your way, Mrs. Ra would skin us both alive ;-)

And most of these boys think I'm too old to remember how to spread ;-)

Right on, that is what Swirl was pointing at but Drae, don't get that he falls within that - its his perceived reality.
I agree w you, I love him and I think there is hope. LOL. And yes, Drae, you have sexist tendencies. Sorry.

It's not perception its reality sweetheart. A man who is 6'2 and 250lbs is generally stronger and more threatening than a man who is 5'9 and 160. I'm sure there are instances where it might not be true but generally it is. I think the disconnect also comes from women never having to really respect size and strength amongst each other since you guys aren't usually physically violent with one another. I can admit my approach to an altercation with a man much bigger than me is different than one much smaller.

And I often surround myself with women smarter than me unfortunately the ones I normally attract romantically aren't lol.

I'm pretty good. I had an amazing night with a gorgeous woman last night and school starts Tuesday and I'm really excited. Just hoping the Hurricane doesn't fuck shit up too bad out here.

Skin doesn't define physical ability but size often does coupled with the having less muscle density. How is that sexist. That's science kid
