When the Vick story about dog fighting broke, one of the investigations into it went into the rural, redneck South where it also occurred exclusively underground.

I read this thing where people were up in arms because the channel that televised Kim K's wedding had scripted a tender moment between Kourtney and her boyfriend. Many people have illogically concluded this is a "Black thang", despite the fact that it has NOTHING to do with authentic Black culture, and its unfair and disrespectful to the Black community to lump this decrepid behavior on them. There is another White guy (forgot his name right now) who received 20 years before anyone ever heard of Vick the dogfighter, and he was considered the Criminal Justice's poster child for the barbaric cruelty (he is still in jail).

That's not what they were trying to say. In fact, they were shutting that down. The story was actually responding to the cliche you just used which was "if he was white..." . If he was, the story concludes, he probably wouldn't even be playing football.


Btw, how much grief is it to re-sign with Nike, re- throw a pig skin with a multi-million dollar contract, be interviewed everywhere, cheered by some sports fans...poor Mike. I'm sure Hargrove wishes he only got Vick's 18 months (Vick also got out early).
