Canada is in mourning today as Jack Layton lays in state on Parliament Hill.

He was a dignified man who embodied all the things that Canada aspires to be.

It is the first time in Canadian history that the head of the opposition has been lain in state and the lines at the hill are huge.

 

I'm so pleased that they had the sense to give the man a state funeral.

Like you guys said, there is no way in Hell, any of them would say those things if they were in the same room with the other person. Just because it's the internet, doesn't mean all tact has to go out the window.
