lol i know, i know.... when im watching True Blood, i never over analyze..i just sit back and watch witches, wolves, and vampires kick each other's ass the comic industry..i dunno what to say...with the availability of e-comics that you can view simply pirate and view on ur computer, there's no more motivation for nerds to buy them at the store shit i remember when all the stores like rite-aid had racks JUST FOR THE COMICS
I just shake my head everytime I find out about something they do now in comics. My nephew comes around always wanting to talk about what they are doing and I tell him just to stop telling me about it most times because that shit literally just makes me depressed hearing about it. I have trade paperbacks of some of the stories I read coming up and let my kids read those rather than the shit that comes out now.
My all time favorite Avengers storyline growing up. I read the hell out of these comics. I ended up ordering some fairly cheap but in good condition copies online of these books back in the late 90's out of nostalgia. I still pick them up & read them from time to time too.
You fucking rock. That storyline was the SHIT when I was a kid. What a classic run. I need to get those out of storage and read 'em again.
I meant to type in super powers. although this does bring in a good point, does a superhero have to have super powers?
All a superhero needs is something above and beyond a regular person. Batman only has intelligence, ass kicking skills, gadgets, and money.
His intelligence wasn't gained by money. I did leave off one thing that separates Batman. He has a extreme sense of justice, almost to the point of being a mental illness.
A few of the trade paperbacks collecting some of the stories I liked as a kid. I actually have all of the John Byrne Visionaries Volumes covering his entire Fantastic Four run.
So from your POV anyone that doesn't have actual powers shouldn't be considered as a super hero? That's a shit load of characters if that's the case.
yea. I think batman is respected more so because he did almost everything on his own. I don't count that huge sum of money though. That was there before his birth. However, most of the well known superheroes do have superpowers.
Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark are considerably smarter then the average person. Bruce is a Sherlock Holmes level detective, and Tony Stark is a Einstein level mechanical engineer. Money can buy an education, but it cant buy intelligence.
Without an education, you can't have good intelligence. That's simply a fact. People aren't born with intel. You have to learn. Having the best teachers to teach you makes the high level intelligence. That's quiet easy to do when you have money.
I know people who graduated college who are as dumb as a post. Anyway, Education is being given information. Intelligence is the ability to process and use information. It is their super high intelligence, along with the other stuff that sets them apart from the average person.
