and that my friend is information most captain America fans know. It's like saying spiderman or the hulk has no super powers or something.

captain america doesn't have any super powers

how many times i gotta say that

he's at the max human potential (thanks to the project) and can throw a shield

he even jokes about that with other interactions with superheroes in comics, admitting that he doesn't possess special abilities like they do

he can't fly, doesn't shoot lasers out of his eyes, doesn't regenerate like wolverine, etc, etc. He's like nothing but a gifted powerlifter/athlete in a 220-225lb frame. Comparing him to the Hulk or Spiderman is insane. The Hulk can jump over freaking mountains and spiderman shoots webs out of his hands.

    c'mon son.

    This.

    Nerd Rant Begin.

Captain America is on the same level as Batman. Both are at the max level of human performance. Captain America by way of the Super Soldier Serum and Batman by way of extensive training & discipline. If you want to say they have a "super power" then it would be that Captain America has the extraordinary strength of character & will (which is how & why he can get a god like Thor to respect him & follow him in battle) and Batman has the extraordinary obssesion to end crime & deductive reasoning skills (which is why even without powers Batman is regarded as the most dangerous hero because he can figure a way to defeat almost any foe given time).

I'm sorry but batman did not go under a huge experiment that captain america did. training is still training that robin and many other people could do. What took batman years to get a body like that, took captain america what a couple days or months. If you say that captain america had no super powers, you could say the same about the hulk or spiderman to a point.

Did you read my post? I broke it down clearly. It seems as if you think because Captain America's physical peakness was gained through scientific means that that translates into "super powers". It does not. Captain America can do things that normal people can not through the combination of physical peakness & strength of will. Period. It's that same strength of will along with his character that allowed him to be chosen to be Captain America because that is what the embodiment of the concept of Captain America is. A man of high moral character, courage & will with a body at peak perfection.

Why does he need a serum if he can get there on his own? Batman doesn't need a serum.
My point is that the serum got him there much faster than the average person much like the incredible hulk mishap gets bruce banner to a powerhouse. Without the experiment, there might not even be a Captain America.
I just don't see it happening in such a short period of time unlike many of the heroes who had to work on it for years. This includes batman, night wing, the robins, etc

I think it is how you define superpowers but this guy barely stays on the line of no superpowers.
If I had that serum, I'd blow the bolt our of the water.

You do know that the sole purpose of Super Soldier Serum was to enhance a soldier to peak human level performance in an instant? And you do realise that Steve Rogers was literally a 90 pound weakling in every since of the word physically before taking the serum? So yes, without the serum there would be no Captain America. At least not how Steve Rogers became Captain America.

That's what I was pointing out. along with the "super soldier" part. Marvel says he is not a superhero. I'd reserve that for batman but not Cap. It is what it is.

Does anyone read manga? I've been reading a lot lately for some reason. Evangelion Neon Genesis, RalGrad...my bf has a pretty good collection, though I can't seem to put down the cute girly ones like Mammote Shugogetten

Huh?? Since when is Captain America not regarded as a superhero? And please don't give me the neo-fanboy rhetoric about "he's a soldier, so he can't be considered a superhero". So I suppose Thor isn't a superhero either because he's a "god", using this new Marvel "logic", huh?

    lol

batman is widely considered to be a superhero, but he does not have 'super powers'

he still kicks some serious ass tho, and has everything he needs to go toe to toe with super villains

That's why the comicbook industry is slowly dying. Dudes both on the creative & fan sides are overthinking shit. It's basic fantasy/ecsapism. It's not that serious. Just role with the shit. When you can't roll with the shit anymore then it's time to stop reading it.
