I say that because I looked through your post history, and I'm aware that blacks and whites have a lot of social distance apart from each other. One area is with money. White people make more money than black people. Thus, they have more opportunity.

Because the idea of any interracial intimacy is distasteful for them. Miscegenation, as it used to be called, was the primary driving force during Reconstruction, the Jim Crow era and battle over school desegregation/busing in the U.S. during the 60's. When you have a culture built on the values of racial superiority/purity, they only thing that can disrupt it is interracial sex. In sense, "polluting" the purity of whiteness. The KKK, The White Citizens Council, etc. were organization that were supremely focused on this.

There is still a deep underlying bedrock of this in American culture and around the world to some extent. Look up "skin whitening ads" - you'll see them from around world. Chemicals to make one lighter, etc...

So, even if the white men don't want to date them, the fact that they have gone over/or are willing to go over "to the dark side" is extremely distressful.

First thing you wrote that I agree with.

 

Social distance? Hardly. Are schools/colleges not integrated? Gyms? Can you not go around your town/community without being kept out of restaurants, bars, etc. The social distance between black and whites is the smallest it has been in American history. Black and white people interact, by the thousands, everyday in work and leisure.

Black and white people are not kept on separate islands, where the water is somehow keeping them from interacting. You seem to think that the only reason white women aren't all marry/having sex is with black men is because they can't meet them. News flash. White women meet/are in contact with black men quite regularly.

Of course you meant in literally, social distance theory is about interaction in the social sphere. Let me re-phrase it for you, the social distance between black and whites is the smallest it has ever been. Period. White women interact with black men all the time. The reason the majority don't date black men is because they do not want to, not because they've never met one.

Seriously...why is this simple fact of reality so hard to grasp? Doesn't mean that one can't date interracially, just means that most white women are not interested.

if more of the Asian population was infused into the US, you'd probably see more homogamy among them
