LOL I'd have to actually physically be there to really see the problem, but sounds like a classic case of 'Needs more exercise' to me. Most dogs don't get anywhere near the amount of exercise they need (simply because people don't know how much they need) and it's the number one source of behavioural problems. Good idea would be to double the exercise, or change the type, and intensity, of the exercise.

If he's crap to walk on a leash, you can get no-pull harnesses that work quite well on most dogs, other than that you can try the old 'if you pull me, I'll walk you in the other direction' method. He starts to act like a moron on the leash, you quickly turn around and walk in the opposite direction with him. Once he's settled again, turn back around and keep walking the way you were going to begin with.

It all takes time. Like teaching a toddler to do something new, you have to baby step it and be patient and consistant.

Sorry if you didn't really want advice, or you already knew this. Just trying to be helpful. :) Definitely increase the exercise. It solves so much.

You could also try clicker training. I won't try and explain it here, because I'm disrupting the thread enough as it is, but google 'clicker training' and you'll find heaps of info (go to youtube for vids of it). :)

    lol...thanks sin. :D

she's a shelter dog & i don't think she was ever trained. definitely needs more exercise, i've been struggling with that since i've started working full-time. 30 minutes once a day isn't enough. it's that ol i would walk her more often if she didn't pull my arm out of my socket & lunge at other dogs and people to smell them & not escape from every lead she has when tied up and dash down the busy street kinda situation. i love the beast, she just needs some serious training & follow through.

I have graduated from college. I have left everything I knew behind for a chance at happiness. I have been married and divorced. I have suffered, and I have triumphed. I have sang the national anthem at a sports event. I have surpassed others expectations of me. I have been on tv. I have had my artwork shown on tv. I have laughed, and I have cried. I have known the abyss, and I have conquered it. I have known emptiness, and I have overcome. I have known the loss of a child. I have loved, and I have been loved. I have a lot yet to learn.

Thanks, Pixie. I had a doctor that I think was trying to kill me, & it was his fault I had to have the surgeries...sorry, bug-eyed bastard.

The part of Texas I live in is short on folks who rock, lol. There are a few good Texas men, but unfortunately they don't live here. ;)
