Aaaaah But the black Spiderman DOES NOT have to be gay. The Hispanic 2099 Spiderman wasn't gay. Why they want the Black Spiderman to be gay?? It goes back to the wm understanding the reality of sex and politics.....
He's not replacing Peter Parker; the story runs in a parallel universe. The origin of Miles Morales and how he became the new Spider-Man will be revealed when Ultimate Spider-Man relaunches in September with a new No. 1 issue. In the regular Marvel Universe, Peter Parker will still be the same as he has been since his first appearance in 1962. In the Marvel Ultimate line, Spider-Man has a altered origin. So the 'white' Spider-Man is really still alive and well. It is all a "what if" fantasy. People are making a big deal of the creators/writers having a little fun with a new interpretation.
Thanks Bo, but I already knew this. I posed the question more or less due to axum's statement about the new guy not being able to have any possible relationships with any of the females that Ultimate Peter Parker would have known if they made him a gay character. It wouldn't make any sense for him to have any involved of any kind with anyone that Ultimate Peter Parker knew if Miles Morales has never had any involvement with anyone connected to Parker. Although I don't actively read comics anymore, thanks to a nephew who is big into collecting them & running across various comic related info from time to time while browsing online I'm pretty up on most of what goes down in comics and something I have noticed is that both DC & Marvel have unfortunately done is make it so that ALL of the heroes seem to know each other very well on a personal level. Obvious overspill of the fanboy mentality of the creators leaking unto the characters that is. As in real life & using this forum for an example, I can understand some of the heroes getting to know each other and becoming friends and sharing personal details with each other but ALL of them doing it?
Yeah I not been into comic books since grade school, so like you I get confused when the younger generation starts sharing info with me.
Hmmmm...one can obviously make the assumption that you yourself must be into super heroes since you have not only obviously read this thread but have posted comments not once but twice in it. Just saying dawg........
Why NOT make him be gay???? Go the whole PC route. We can see him and Kraven The Hunter having sex and watching Glee.
Um, Miles isn't gay, Tom Breevort answered that question himself when someone asked him that essentially what they were saying was that they would hope for a time where a character can be black, hispanic, or gay, and be considered normal. Unfortunately, the comment lead to confusion.
