I don't like that they (Marvel) are playing so safe with the their live action tv projects. They should announce some shows staring some heavy hitters, like a Wolverine series (would kick ass), a Daredevil series or a Dr. Strange series.

Got a point. I think a Dr. Strange series would be cool. Rumor has it Patrick Dempsey from Grey's Anatomy is interested in the character. I'm sure he'd be willing to give it a go for a series. Tune in every week to see him fighting different creatures on the astral plane with your proverbial overarching story line. I'd give it a go.

Yes, Dr. Strange would be an interesting & excellent choice for a series. A lot of potential if done right.

yeah I think it's time Nick Fury gets his hands dirty. He's been pretty tame as of late, but we all know he can get rowdy

The first Ghost Rider movie sucked and should have been done as a straight up horror action movie in the same vein as Blade IMO. The second one is already off to a bad start with this burned up/melted re-design.

yeah the first blade was a nasty vampire movie with a good camera style

remember it had an R rating and ghost rider was watered down for the kids, which is the norm except for Punisher (that mothafucka's movies always rated R)

Yes indeed Ghost Rider should have been R rated. Although the character is a "superhero" at it's heart it is a horror comic , same as Blade, with all of the supernatural aspects to it especially the deal with "the Devil" (Mephisto) and the various demons he fights on occasions. The bad guy in this new movie is called Blackout and what I know/remember from the comics he was a demonic serial killer. If they are still going with a P-13 rating that's not going to cut it.

I was expecting more religious adaptations of demons and the devil like in spawn, to be honest

figured if they could make cage burn, they could make blackheart look crazy like in the comics

Exactly. Anything associated with the devil/demons/hell should be vile & outrageous when shown in it's full true nature.

in that case i was let down

in the game Marvel vs Capcom, blackheart is a hulking black and white monstrosity. that was the first time i seen or heard of the character, and thought the movie would have him looking like that.

maybe they didnt have enough room in the budget

That's my biggest pet peeve about Hollywood & sci-fi/fantasy/horror type movies. Don't be making low budget movies for stories that contain high visual concept elements. Especially if the people making the movies don't get/understand how certain things should be visualized and try pulling it off with weak renditions.

    lol

    that's true

low budget is good for character movies and dramas like Unthinkable with Sam Jackson, where the plot and dialogue is all you need.

Hollywood must love to piss off White anal comicbook nerds who don't like any changes to characters. First we got a Black Nick Fury, then a Black Heimdall in Thor and now a Black Perry White in the new Superman reboot movie, Man of Steel.

Man of Steel: Laurence Fishburne to Join Cast as Perry White.

Info taken from Christian Post website.

The “Matrix” star was selected to play the stern Editor-in-Chief of the “Daily Planet” newspaper, Perry White, according to Entertainment Weekly. Fishburne will be the first black actor to play White throughout the various interpretations of the film, cartoon and television.

In the 2006 film “Superman Returns” Frank Langella was cast as White, while actor Jackie Cooper played the EIC in the “Superman” films that featured Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent.

The demanding Editor-in-Chief character was created over 70 years ago on “The Adventures of Superman” radio series before making his way onto the seventh issue of the “Superman” comic, The Los Angeles Times reports.

The most recent actor to take on the role of White is also nominated for an Emmy award after his performance in HBO’s “Thurgood” as Supreme Court justice Thurgood Marshall. He also recently ended a stint as Dr. Raymond Langston on the CBS crime drama, "CSI".
Fishburne was the recipient of a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in the play “Two Trains Running” close to 10 years ago and previously received an Emmy Award for his performance in “Tribeca.”

Aside from Fishburne, the “Man of Steel” film will have an all-star cast featuring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent and Amy Adams as reporter Lois Lane. Kevin Costner will play Jonathan Kent while Diane Lane will play his wife Martha.

Although much of the cast seems to be complete, Warner Bros has yet to announce which actor will play photographer Jimmy Olsen.

The film will be directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Emma Thomas and Christopher Nolan, who is currently working on “The Dark Knight Rises” batman film. The “Man of Steel” is slated for a 2013 release.

I like Larry (yes larry) and Kevin Costner, so i'd see the films just to see two guys I grew up with. I gotta google this to see how white people are responding...
