obvious hotbeds for african-american activity either that or roscoe's chicken n waffles...that would be a sign of us too
Oh, I'm 100% certain he's a dickhead. And since he represents your district...don't tell me the majority of people are conservative...
This city is a very strange combination of extremely conservative born-again Christian types, and extremely progressive folk, many of whom would fall into the environmentalist, hippie and/or pagan categories. It's a really strange combination.
It would be perfectly balanced when you see a politically charged organization called the "Folks of Nhi".
exactly blacks make up about 12-15 % in america damn str8 the army is well integrated. I was in fort carson for 4 days doing an audit and you will see all kinds of people. the thing is he felt comfortable saying that shit despite the presence of the military because they are less likely to vote in that area. then again it still wouldnt help his position because they would get wind of that shit and may put out some type of push back against the people in that area such as an economic boycott.
Speaking of tools....this guy is another one who would make that reference to Obama in such a public format that's like telling a reporter u want to do the jig, in a room full of blacks (yeah we know u meant the Irish one)
I am not the least bit shocked or surprised by those kind of sentiments from some of these rabid scoundrels. Do you know how hard it is for some of them to stomach the notion of a man who is not WASP sitting in the white house in 2011. It hurts them like a batch of laxatives washed down with spoilt milk. I said it before and it is worth reiterating, if that was a white president in the oval office, this debt ceiling issue would never be what it became. You don't look at a country like America's history and not recognize there are folks out there who are virulent bigots to the core of their being, some just smile in your face while cursing you behind your back. This no name representaive from a Colorado district is simply emblematic of a wider audience out there that shares his sentiments. I don't like to term people racist for the heck of it, I prefer to hear what they have to say, when they open up their mouths and the emotions they reflect in combination. It tells you a lot about where they stand. That that was the best terminology a sitting U.S representative in polticial office, whom I assume is an intelligent man, could come up with is very telling indeed.
this is the most well put together statement ever when it comes to what this idiot and other idiots say when it comes to racists and other racial statements and racial situations.
The election of Barack Obama has really revealed some of the innermost contempt and disdain that segments of American society still posses on the issue of race. There are folks who if they had their drudges Obama would have never stepped foot in the White House and that is not a reflection of only policy differences. Note how they seemingly lack the ability to control themselves and behave rationally when they start speaking on Obama. Not everyone who disagrees with Obama is a racist of course, but you have to be left wondering about some.
Maybe Obama was put in the White House to unleash the dogs of war on black people. We have to learn to look deeper into things....deeper than our MISleaders and the media suggests. We act like we've never been lied to or deceived...as if everything has been above board. I just don't get it.
Totally agree. I have no faith or trust in politics and politicians. Too many hypocrites that say anything to get elected and once in office they acquiesce to their true supporters and puppet masters, the rich and influential that roam the corridors of Washington. Soon as Obama was in office, the Tea Party and its elk needed to "take back America", spending and debt was catastrophic like Bush was a penny pincher when it came to spending, for the 1st time in history one of these speculative credit agencies S&P lowered the U.S. credit score, the debt ceiling issue became a humongous issue than under any other President, some of these incorrigible folks seem to use every other term but President in describing Obama. One has to wonder indeed bro. Things that make you go hmmm.
I'm enough older than a lot of you that Watergate isn't history to me - it happened while I was a young teenager. A lot of people my age were formed politically by a few singular events. The assassinations of JFK, MLK, Bobby Kennedy, the civil rights and anti-war protests, and Watergate. We are *very* cynical about the political process. Unlike the bulk of the baby boomers who were college age or above, these things formed the heart of our childhood and our earliest awareness of government. We *assume* our government is lying to us, and that politicians cannot speak the truth. It does not shock us, it just reinforces our cynicism. Which may be why, in 2008, I was astounded by the rainbow-farting unicorn hopey changey shit and how many people swallowed it. Unfortunately, the reality of the last few years has led to increasing cynicism in the youngest generation of voters, and turned a number of them off from the political process as well. As a result, I suspect the rabid fringe element in this country has not yet shot its wad, so to speak. Too many of the "youngsters" who are now 18-30 have turned their backs on the process, and aren't in a voting mood. Obama was never a progressive lefty, and people who dreamt that he was have been rudely awakened, and left feeling abandoned and hopeless. And the fringe who are still, consciously or un, offended by the fact that a black man is president are still all fired up. Frankly, if *I* were going to dream up a fantasy president, she'd probably be a black lesbian socialist grandma ;-) Outrage the homophobes, the ageists, the conservatives and the racists all at the same time and get it over with. Oh, and what the hell, why not have her in a wheelchair too, so the ableists can also freak out and get the hell over it.
rayer:rayer: Damn GQ ..... I was going to post some comments but you seem to be summing up what I was going to say very nicely. Carry on soldier.
LOL thx for the props brotha. One of the things I pride myself on as an educated black man is to peep game. Blacks are not being lynched any longer in public, but believe there still exists those folks who wouldn't mind that because they truly believe that their skin color makes them better than others. The ignorance and tribalism of humanity will never cease. All you can do is live your life as a strong, focused man with values and discipline and a no nonsense approach in your makeup. You don't have to like me but give me my space. I don't deal with foolishness from anyone and will let them know right there and then in no uncertain terms.
"You don't have to like me but you will respect me", General Benjamin O. Davis, WWII black air force general of the U.S. military stationed in Europe.
