Job listings say the unemployed need not apply

When this story broke two months ago, there was such a backlash, it was either denied by the company or removed. Since then, you will not find that on openings.
Continuing to do it off the record however, is a given. But they were doing it before they posted it, anyhow.

IMO, they posted it because the recruiters probably got tired of sifting through the applications to weed out the automatically excluded. Basically it's doing the recruiter a favor AND saving the LTU (long term unemployed) to not waste their time. Crying about it wont change their hiring choices.

 

its a catch 22 for everyone. the thing is people are saying business (BIG) are having a tuff time but that is bullshit. they are having large profits , paying little taxes and doing more with less people and shipping jobs overseas. they have a choice in being picky.

 

Then what will I wonder? Are we on the verge of another American Revolution?

 

it is the small businesses that are getting raped right now and i do empathize with ownership of our company...

did any of you see what is happening with the airlines right now...they are pocketing 30 million a day in revenues because of some tax glitch...obviously not passing it on to the ticket holder but adding their bottom line....now for some airlines this has to be a welcome break because many of them are not turning a profit...it has to be a major windfall for southwest airlines one of the only airlines keeping their head above water

 

There's nothing wrong with that statement. He's absolutely right. The purpose of a corporation is to make money. Corporations are greedy entities that would shit on every single one of us if they saw profit in it. As long as we, as a society, continue to buy into the capitalist mentality we're just serving as the fuel that moves the corporate machine along.

There is a farmers market not 2 blocks from my local Walmart and Publix. The quality of produce we get from the farmers market is far superior to what we find in the large chains and at a much better price. I never understand why people flock to the large chains for produce. As soon as people begin to support the local economy and stop buying bullshit trinkets and doodads the better off this country will be. Oooorrrr we can continue to contribute to the bank accounts of the mighty 1%... that's cool too.

It's time for a revolution they are cutting everything. With all the cuts they predict another 16 million jobs will be cut in ten years bringing unemployment to 20%. In the richest country in the world does this make sense? It's funny how all the people assigning the suffering won't suffer. It's definitely time to revolt.

 

why do you think we are rich? is this just something that has been said so much that we all buy into it...we are not rich...we do not have any money...we are broke and need to close off the borders and start taking care of our own...let somebody else go take care of another country...i am fed up with the usa always offering aid to other countries and fighting other countries battles when we can't seem to take care of our own people...we need to stop the bleeding...i want all of our troops home and they can protect our borders from now on...that will be their only job...

i'm pissed about this compromise on the debt ceiling...these fucking tea party and republicans are all for domestic cuts but aren't willing to hike taxes for the rich...it's just sad all the way around

Uncle Sam owes him a country where his interests and those that share them will be supported over the Corporations. I honestly meant do you have some sort of learning disability. Because any tax payer who believes the ONLY thing youre owed as a citizen ate protected boarders there's something wrong. We entered into a social contract with our government and for the tax dollars we pay we deserve way more.

i am not above doing hardwork...or working for a lower wage at starbucks...whatever it takes to pay the bills...what i will not do it sit home whining/complaining

 

this is a serious topic and i see some people clowning around...it won't be so funny when they find themselves without a job wallowing in self pity...pity doesn't pay the bills...everyone should have a backup plan...i certainly do...my house is not big but i do have enough room to take on a renter...i have other skills that would allow me to make money doing several odd jobs...as long as the money adds up to being able to pay the mortgage...we don't need cable and we can par down on our other expenses...
