Truth. You'll find someone you click with if you just be yourself. Anyone with half a brain can figure out when someone is trying too hard to impress and is uncomfortable with what they're doing.

Just be yourself and the rest will follow. That's what I do. :smt023

Generally women want the hard candy with a soft sweet centre ( yes that's how we spell centre!) for relationships.

Easy to confuse tough with just a regular prick in your youth.

Tough and mean aren't necessarily the same thing.

You guys aren't lying! were I live there's always nice-looking women at those places, it's wonderful!

On the subject, I think the best advice is to be yourself but, you do have to have some confidence. IMO you also have to let the women know how you feel. If they like you, they do; if they don't, they just don't for whatever reason.

I missed out a few females when I was younger because, I was too shy to let them know how I felt. Later on I would find out they may have felt the same way or some would say, "well why didn't he say anything"

I think some women may like bad boys but not all of them. I've had situations were women - who I went to high school with - who didn't give me the time-of-day, later tried to get with me, after they had been divorced, or had some kids.

I don't have a issue with a women with kids but, if you didn't like me then, why now. I guess it boils down to some of the points brought up earlier about younger women, though I don't think that's always the case.

As an "older woman" I also have to note that one of the reasons I didn't date black men when I was younger was that they didn't approach me...and I didn't think they'd be interested in a white woman. Why I had that assumption is of course cultural and stupid, but none the less, the WW you think are fine may not think you'd be interested because they're white. Approach! You may be pleasantly surprised.

lets get rid of the excuse they like bad boys. true enough there are knuckleheaded women for knuckleheaded men....that should not excuse you from hitting on women and getting your share. Hell, I struck out plenty of times but I went back to bat and hit a few homers too. hell hank aaron struck out thousands of times more he hit home runs. he just tailored his swing for each pitcher.

as far as younger females you mentioned you are correct. as far as you statement when women go thru a divorce and later on get with u is something that happened to me also. Women dont have a lock down on maturity and know what relationships mean. they are just as ignorant as everyone else.

lastly, stop putting women on pedestals because a lot of women will not respect you for it. they also dont like it because its too much pressure on them to live up to that shit and lastly it would put you in the trick bag

what changed when you got older ? did you approach them or what ?

Yes. But I'd like it the other way around too. Maybe black men over 40 are assuming I wouldnt be interested?

    1) yes you did the approaching ?

    2) Yeah, guys over 40 probably would think you wouldnt because we came thru the tail end era of a serious racial divide. We would get our asses in fights if we were caught with a WW or whatever. so most guys have trepidation of approaching because they think a WW would mase their ass on the spot of an approach. LOL

Yes, I did the approaching. I'd like to think, to your second point, that most of us between 40-55, were a bit more enlightened. My first memories of any media were pretty much of civil rights protesters being beaten on by police, so I grew up with an utter disgust at racism. If my generation has turned out to be less aware than I thought, you gentlemen here have my apologies for my entire generation. :-(

I know I'm not the only one in that age group who hasn't a problem with dating across racial lines, but I do recognize I grew up in the Northeast, where it was more accepted, or accepted sooner at least, than in some other areas.

no need to apologize because some people have reverse themselves thru their actions and others you should not have to pay the price for. I cant pay the price for whatever an ignorant black person do. If I did I would be saying sorry before you said anything. it will take Black folks the ability to forgive and act accordingly. some bro's get pass it fast and some others a little slower and some just never have.
