Without the stigma, there would no rumors or notion of hiding ones sexuality. You are generally right about the Black communities relative take on homosexuality. The gay Hollywood rumor mill seems an open field however.

I've only seen the above expressed by a small number of white racists. I'm not sure what constitutes the proper view on sexuality, but in the African-American context, one could list a number of reasons why it's more of a stigma. (religion, emasculation)
