i'm not gonna debate with you on this issue because its a complex issue. and i can respect your opinion and agree to disagree. Common is a rapper who raps about positive issues. He is a positive rapper. but who are the rappers that make the big bucks? the gangster rappers. the rappers.

50 cent is more than just rapper, he is a multi-media phenomenon aside from being a former thug. Rick Ross, even though he is fake, is a gangster rapper too. those are the 2 big names in hip hop.

there are different types of rappers. lets accept that.

LL Cool J is a rapper who raps about sex. he is your romantic rapper actor. 50 cent and Rick Ross raps about being a gangster, pimpin ho's and selling drugs.

Nicki Minaj, Lil Kim and Trina rap about being a high class ghetto sluts.

Common is what is called a "neo soul rapper". he raps about socially conscious issues that relate to the struggle. he is your idealistic clean cut rapper that doesn't offend a maintream audience as much.

this is why he and jill scott got invited to the white house. not just because he raps. ok. lets get that correct. don't confuse who hot in the rap industry with who is politically correct.

I agree no debate is necessary. As far as being politically correct, let's not get it confused with all the flak that the White House got over inviting Common, who was considered politically incorrect by many people.
