It's not excessive. You hurt another human or an animal, you should spend your life suffering. It's simple.

no thanks...lippy will pass on playing video games...i am not questioning vicks talent or ability to play the game...but for you all to not recognize how very lucky he is right now to be back in the NFL boggles my mind...we will have to agree to disagree

FACT: vick was already in the NFL...lippy knew this little tidbit of information...duh:smt120 i bet if you interviewed him today he would tell you himself that he is lucky to be back playing the game

he was not lucky, he was simply better

100 is better than 90, right?

or is there luck involved in the fact that 100 happens to be greater

    :p

NFL teams are in possession of basic arithmetic skills I would assume, to evaluate players and put them in a pecking order. No luck involved.:p

and the NFL...the NBA...the NHL all are governed by commissioners...correct? they decide how much a team can spend and who can play...correct? if the commissioners says no to a players eligibility then no team can pick him up..correct? then what?

like i said...vick is lucky to be back playing in the NFL:D

    http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/07/19/washington.dog.fighting.vick/

Washington (CNN) -- From one-time participant to present-day activist against the illegal sport of animal fighting, Michael Vick came to Capitol Hill Tuesday in support of legislation that would criminalize spectators and others who organize the fighting.

While trying to keep young people from taking part, the legislation more broadly hopes to make it easier to prosecute people who finance and arrange the gambling, provide locations for fights to happen and otherwise have knowledge of the activity.

Vick, now a star quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, was released from prison in 2009 after serving 20 months of a sentence for a dogfighting conviction. His case involved bankrolling illicit animal fights in the state of Virginia.

"I deeply regret my previous involvement in dogfighting, I'm sorry for what I did to the animals," Vick told a news conference. "During my time in prison, I told myself I wanted to be part of the solution, not the problem."

He was accompanied by the head of the Humane Society of the United States, Wayne Pacelle, who acknowledged it was initially difficult to consider accepting Vick's offer of help, until he realized Vick could carry some influence.

"The biggest growth area for dogfighting was urban-based dogfighting," Pacelle said. "Michael's own story starting as a young boy getting involved in dogfighting I thought was a very powerful testimonial. ...

"We both agreed that the best thing he could do was speak to these kids because of the platform that he has as an NFL star and to warn them away from this conduct," Pacelle said.

The House bill, introduced last week, would establish federal misdemeanor penalties against convicted spectators, and make it a felony for adults found responsible for spectators who are children.

At the Capitol Hill news conference, organizers played some local television news coverage showing illicit cockfights, including the participants and the surrounding scene.

Vick told reporters the video took him right to the problem.

"To see the young kid walking with the cock, you know, was astonishing," Vick said. "It was taking place in a similar setting of what I've been around before.

"This is what our kids are being taught," he said, "and it's inhumane and it's pointless.

"That child could be doing so much more with his life, instead of walking around with a cock in his hand, waiting to fight, even if he's not involved, being there, his presence speaks volumes as to what goes on when people's heads are turned."

The Animal Fighting Spectator Prohibition Act (H.R. 2492) was introduced by Reps. Tom Marino, R-Pennsylvania, and Betty Sutton, D-Ohio. Sutton was at the news conference along with Rep. Jim Moran, D-Virginia, who is among the co-sponsors.

reading comprehension...we started talking about endorsements...tiger woods receiving endorsements based not just on his talent but how after being married and having two children that more companies were interested in him representing their product...we are still talking about endorsements with vick...i don't think anyone is questioning his talent...but to say that he is not lucky to be playing football would be foolish...the fact that nike gave him an endorsement is over the top for me...football, great use your talent win games...endorse a product that i spend money on several times a year for my son...not so much...i would rather take my money somewhere else...my choice as a consumer...you all can go buy all the nike products you want...it really is just that simple...get out there and support your boy and buy nike...lippy like many other animal lovers will boycott the brand

    Why?

As far as I'm concerned, if you hurt another human being or an animal, you should be tarred, feathered, and dragged through the streets. Pieces of you should be cut off and fed to the same animals you abused, and if you abuse/rape someone, that person should be able to torture you in the most astonishingly painful ways possible. You should live your life in front of people, with pieces missing, scars covering your face, looking like a grotesque monster, constantly monitored so you can't even take your own life, so that every single person who sees you knows what a despicable excuse for a human being you are.

Why in the flipping fuck should I be unbiased? If you're a reprehensible human being, prison isn't going to change that. You don't get rehabilitated. Fuck that noise.

How long were you locked up for?

Oh and what about the people who are falsely convicted Stalin lol.
They need some type of therapy in jail.

    Doesn't matter.

    If you were convicted. SUFFER.

People are rarely, if ever, falsely convicted of animal or people abuse. The burden of proof is on the state to provide loads and loads of proof if an animal is abused, and the same with a person. It's tough to send someone to jail for that without a mountain of proof.

So, again. Burn in hell. Suffer like no other human has ever suffered. On second though- concentration camps are a great idea. Eat human an animal excrement every day until you die a painful, malnourished death. That sounds fair. It sure would decrease a lot of forms of abuse (animal and human) and rape.

Are you off your drugs or on some drugs?
Plenty of people go to jail for shit they didn't do based on eye witness testimony that was false. You sound like you're going through it tonight. You ok boo.

I wasn't talking about other fucking people doing other fucking crimes, MF. Pay a-fucking-ttention.

I was talking about people who abuse or rape other human beings and people who abuse animals.

    PERIOD.

    And I'm perfectly fine, thanks.

No, I've always felt this way. As a matter of fact, I'm having a great day. I just got back from a party and I'm relaxing watching some TV.

I just think that we could do more to punish people who are convicted of crimes. If you abuse or rape someone or an animal- hell, if you murder someone- being fed excrement for the rest of your life would sure put things into perspective, wouldn't it?

I really don't give a flying fuck about people who are wrongly accused and convicted- there aren't enough of them to really make a difference to the overall justice system. Plain and simple.

I don't know statistics on wrongly accused but if it's only one and that one is related to you, it would be one wrong conviction too many.

As someone who played competitive college sport, I know 1st hand that it takes talent, hard work & not just good luck but great luck to succeed in any sport. Sure Vick is lucky to get endorsements after serving time but the fucker is very talented. When he came out of prison and worked out with teams, they were impressed by him and that is why he got a job. He didn’t get a starting job right of the bat but he worked hard during the season and earned the position. Vick was excelling so much & appeared to be a super bowl contender this year (If only Philly did not fuck up the Packers game).

And some of you bleeding heart extreme liberals want to continue to punish Vick, the fuck do you want from the guy, blood? Smdh. He was found guilty & has paid his dues, period. How come y’al don’t create all these fuss about Ben RapistBerger, he is accused of raping two women. He still plays, makes money, and in fact he just got married to cute chick today, but y’al want to crucify Vick, give me a break. If Vick is pushing a new Nike I am getting it. Go Vick

It might be. But this was about Michael Vick. And I think he needs to rot in hell and suffer relentlessly for what he did to those dogs. I don't think he ever gets a reprieve. A lifetime in jail isn't enough, and I think the people who run Nike need to burn in hell right next to him.

I have no patience- not one iota- for anyone who hurts an animal.
