Even 20 years ago when I divorced, in MA you couldnt even ask for alimony if you had not been a stay at home parent for at least ten years. Even then, the alimony was for a limited time (generally about 2 years, if I remember right) for the stay at home parent to retrain and re-enter the workforce.

I dont think alimony itself is common these days unless people have a metric shit ton of money to start with. However a lot of people get alimony and settlement confused. Settlement is the division of marital assets, in most cases limited to those assets gained during a marriage. In community property states, that's divided 50/50, regardless of who did what work for what money during the marriage, but assets each spouse had prior to the marriage is theirs free and clear. Now all of that can be adjusted by a pre-nup, but in community property states that's how it works.

In some non-community property states, and non no-fault states, "blame" is attached and feeds into the settlement. In other words, if you cheated on your spouse, or hit your spouse, he or she might get a larger share of the marital assets.

In my case, the only "property" to split was debt, and I voluntarily took it all, because that was the only way I knew it would be paid off and my credit rating would be cleared up. I was granted my divorce 3 months before it took effect for my ex (weird, I know) because he admitted in court that he'd hit me. I don't know how or why the judge decided that, but it did sort of amuse me at the time ;-)

(For the record, hitting me is verboten and that was the end of the marriage. I am not a punching bag.)

In some states, they don't care what the reason for the divorce is. I tell you, getting a divorce is an excellent primer in the ins and outs of human behavior. I remember a funny saying: "Things get mean when the green comes between." Or something similar. But you get the drift.

    Real talk-

    1. Yes Elin comes from money but does not have near close money as Tiger
    2. Elin does not deserve all that money
    3. Tiger should not have gotten married if he was not done playing around.
    4. Yes Athletes deserve all that money coz they worked hard for it. It is a capitalstic society, you support their salary by watching their game and buying their jersey.
    5. I hate to speculate & I could be wrong here but Elin does not come across to me as a type WW who will dig a brotha, she married tiger because he is TIGER WOODS, even that she took her time b4 she gave the man a chance. I am not surprised that she went back to a WM.
    6. Most of these athelets get the cream of the crop woman of any race because of their money and staus, REAL TALK!
    7. I kinda agree with Bookie suggestion don't pay them all that money b4 they play at least one season. This works in theory but difficult to make it practical.
    8. Goodlove, stay away from personal attack. JC was giving you advice but you started going off on her, not kool. Actually JC is one of the few ladies who stays out of drama and don't kiss ass in every thread, she chimes what she got to say and always don't get involved with BS, so attacking her makes you a big bully.
    9. I am telling my kids to stay the fuck out of library and spend 24/7 in the fucken gym, in fact, I will make sure they sleep in the gym. Sport is money and money is HONEY!

Just go back to blind adoration, drooling over pics, complimenting big boobs, foot fetishizing, them drooling over cut BM with hard abs and big dicks, yet toned, flat tummies on WW somehow aren't "real," giving them positive rep, letting them get their little digs and insults in, yet you're the bully, and give 'em some little kissy smilies, and they will transform from angry "feminist" to flirty bubblehead faster than than you can say Optimus Prime.

Sorry, some of us will stay feminists no matter how many cut big dicked men compliment us. Feminism is the outre belief that women are human beings too.

How many times do you need to say that before it becomes true to you

It's been true for me since about 1972, maybe early 1973. That's when I had what's called an "a-ha" moment.

How many times is some guy going to post that a big wallet or a big dick or a compliment is going to take women away from their principles and turn them into bubble headed goosh before it's true?

you got me on that one...i'm shocked that nike offered vick an endorsement...risky move on their part...of all the talented athletes to choose from why vick? good thing there are lots of other brands to choose from...you won't catch lippy spending her money with nike...i have no problem with vick getting back on the field and playing the game but i will not support a company that uses vick to endorse a product...too much of an animal lover...

ok mr. strawman, i will play, but this time you will use my actual argument to debate:
point 1- no one is talking about who you date or sleep with. i'm talking about you being one of the negroes co-signing and ass-kissing on this board every anti-black thread on here.
point2- again "the broads" is in relation to those who when their points were challenged, gave nasty attitudes. so in turn, they got bad responses, and ppl jumped in and added more drama. but you didn't see any of that right, because you were a foot deep in ass kissing to see that, right?
point3-so now it's a quest of yours to defend ir couples, assuming this thread is some attack against them. you can tell yourself and your buddies whatever you want. but you know and i know the truth.
point4- your behind is really on illogical dreamscape aren't you? you seem to be trying to make this into some large scale odyssey into ir relationships. what does this have to do with kerry washington?

in conclusion, i feel you are bat-crazy, but you can continue to make things up about me, you have my permission.
