I'm sorry. I made a suggestion. I didn't realize I needed to provide a business proposal showing where every bit of money is going that is made during any season of any professional sport.

Some of you all act as though we're trying to steal your money. LOL. Seriously, it was a THOUGHT, that's all.

And like I said, each player would start the season with a minimum salary: say $500K. After the season is over, they get bonuses dependent upon how they performed during the season, which will be written out beforehand and agreed upon by all parties involved.

And no, I don't think the owners should get the money that isn't paid out to the players at the end of the season.

Guys like Will Smith, Johnny Depp and Leonardo Dicaprio get these salaries because they are in high demand & put butts in the seats. Their salaries are completely justified like it or not. Christ, its not that hard to understand.

 

Simply because you SAY, im being emotional, doesnt mean I am. Whos emotional, the person who feels an employee doesnnt "deserve" his income even though his employers says he does. Or the person trying to get you to understand the type of fundamental capitalism that the rest of the Western world has bought into?

So if The owners dont get the money...and the players dont deserve it, where does it go?

 

A. When you're an athlete of TigerMs caliber not some third string point guard on the Wizards its not about luck. How can you argue that. You don't win by as much as he did and for as long as he did by luck.

C. The discussion wasn't about athletes bad decisions in media it was about many of you thinking that he didn't deserve his money as much as his wife did. Again if point D had been made from jump we wouldn't have needed all these pages.

 

Another thread descends into the relative value of Black men and White women in relationships; one minute it's weight, the next it's social status. Mix that in with the non racial debate on divorce and it's a recipe for 50+ page thread now parsing the role of something as nebulous as luck. Replace Johnny Depp with Eric Roberts for 1/4 the pay and see how much money the movie company makes in net profit.

 

The notion that chance plays a role in Tiger Woods life differently than it does for anyone of us is absurd, given that we all operate under such forces, to single Tiger out is to relegate the effort he (and others) put into his own formation.

No, my entire argument revolves around the fact that people are people and they do different things and have different purposes in life and you can't devalue someone simply because they can't hit a fucking ball into a little hole wearing a hat with a Nike swoosh on it.

No she wasn't. I just think she was over valued. Many argued that she deserved 20 percent of his life earnings just because she had kids you included DB.
My issue was I don't get why having kids entitles her to that much, their her kids too. She benefits just as much as he does maybe even more so by them existing. They're not this life threatening chore deserving of compensation the way you've tried to paint it. Just saying...

You can't win fam. Apparently achievement based on merrit is the same things is luck. Scoring 30 points on average a night is luck so is averaging 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Little fairies get into your sneakers everytime you jump so you can dunk but only the lucky ones. I love the entertainment lol
