I have a flat stomach and my boyfriend has a six pack. do we take care of our bodies? yes, we do. My boyfriend is doing martial arts and therefor stays in shape and I do modeling and therefor has to stay in shape too And? Yes, I care about my looks and about the way my boyfriend dresses etc.. but looks are looks, people should care about personalities. So many co-workers in the film and modeling business have been so plain stupid that I could not keep a conversation. Who needs that? I take care of myself because I want to (for myself) but if someone decides to have other priorities in life, I will be still friends with that person if I can have great conversations with him/her.
Start at the 7:20 mark of the first video and watch the first 4:20 of the second video (though I think the whole 6 part series is worth watching when you have the time).
You and MrF both have issues with reading comprehension.... LA said none of the models in the photos were airbrushed. I, in return, said that yes, they were. All models are airbrushed. Posting REAL skinny women is one thing- and I said GO THEM!! YAY! But to deny that the images of beauty in the media are altered, well, that's just naive. Which is why I said...if you believe they aren't altered, then I have a bridge to China that I'd like to sell you. I wasn't hating on your thread, I was responding to a specific sub-post. Grow up. If insulting me is the only thing you've got, then you've got nothing- and I reported it.
who gives a fuck if they were airbrushed?!?!?! You females sure dont care with your "I love abs" thread so why should we care??? Stop hating and hit the treadmill
Dammit. I sooo need to follow your advice above. Cant rep you though, too much lol (apparently) but bless you for speaking the truth nonetheless~!
Don't encourage him. If you don't measure up to his standard of beauty, you might as well be dirt under his shoe... or no, wait, you wouldn't even be worthy of being dirt under his shoe. If you actually listen to him talk enough, you'd see that. Save your rep until you know him a little better.
We do care...but the point was, if you truly believe they aren't airbrushed, then you're subscribing to a standard of beauty that is absolutely unattainable in this society (which would explain a lot about the way you rant and rave around here)...because women have blackheads, and tan lines, and cellulite, and have grey hair, and their boobs eventually sag just a bit. When LA said they weren't, and they actually looked like that, I almost fell over. It's the height of naivete to think that the pictures in magazines are actually what people look like. In our threads, we understand that the images coming at us aren't 100% real. It's troubling to think that you don't.
lol theres a nearly 500 post thread in the ladies lounge called "I love abs!". Spare me your guilt trippin bullshit please.
You're right. My bad. I will let you keep whining about how you can't find a woman to date, and how no one lives up to your standards... and let you whine about how you don't know WHY that's the case, because all of these hot women should just lounging around waiting for you to find them... It clearly has nothing to do with the fact that those women don't exist- not even to the women who's photos were altered to create that vision of perfect beauty that you guys lust after and covet...searching the streets to find the vision on the pages that you can never seen to find- although, they might come close- they're never exactly that. This is why I have such an issue with the standard of beauty in this country. As I said once before- you're force fed a beauty ideal so often that you actually believe that you've chosen it. And it's the type of beauty ideal that no woman can attain. If you like thin women- GREAT! No one's trying to take that from you- there are plenty of really gorgeous, thin women walking around the streets every day, but many of them get passed over for minor imperfections thanks to that impossible standard of beauty....At some point, ya'll gotta recognize that those images aren't real. It's like getting sex tips from porn. It doesn't work in the real world. You guys seem to think I'm arguing with you about some hatred for thin women. Dude, I don't hate anyone. It's the fact that this standard of beauty we've got going on has young girls starving themselves trying to BE the girls on the pages of magazines thinking that it's something that's actually possible... and then guys walking around saying 'I only want a woman who looks like X' doesn't help. But hey. Whatever. Why would you want to be part of the solution? I get it.
