Can someone please explain the luck factor in sports to me. Especially in an arena that's quantatively opposed to qualitatively. I'm seriously not kidding when I say I don't get it. Its not like the arts where its determined by taste. In sports don't you have to show you're faster or stronger? Don't you have to show you have more endurance or more accuracy over nd over?

OK, here's the difference.

I do think Tori is talented. Would I pay money to have her name on a jersey? Hell to the no. There's some dumb shit out there with her name on it. I'm not going there and spending money on it. AND, sometimes tickets for her shows run upwards of $160. NO WAY am I paying that.

I appreciate her music and purchase it, and occasionally I see her in concert. But if she and her husband got divorced, I'd never say 'Well, she's so clearly worth more as a human than her husband is. WTF has he done to warrant 100 million dollars?'

man, another one of my threads side-tracked again......to get it back on track, i as the op, will get it back on track.....elin was quick to run back to a white guy after she soaked tiger for all he is worth, and is getting played by him like she played tiger. the feeling is she didn't deserve 100 mill she recieved in the divorce just for being married to a rich guy. that is completely seperate from child support and shuldn't be connected. if you don't want kids, abstinence or condoms will remove that concern.
likewise defending the reciever of money but attacking the maker of it, isn't a rational or logical basis of argument.
but on a side note, as been said once or twice by myself, i'm not a fan of those who come into the middle of threads and give lectures about decorum, but at the same time throw insults themselves. this is an adult forum and doesn't need babysitters, especially on the grunds that ppl they are defending talk as much shit as the ppl they are conversing with.

I never said nor has anyone said Tiger was a better human being or worth more than Elin. The argument has always been she did absolutely nothing to earn or deserve 20% of that mans wealth and all you or your fellow power puff girls can offer as an argument is that she had his kids. Which is a weak and pitiful answer since they were her kids and shed made the decision to have them. She never picked up a golf club except to hit him even though you guys want to use lame nonsense like she actually helped him get endorsements. Like that had more to do with him making money than the fact he was a fucking juggernaut in the golf world. I'm going to put this plainly. He earned and acquired the vast bulk of that money before she got there and after she got there she didn't help him earn anything that was all his hard work and talent.

 

The message from you ladies is this:

a) Tiger is nothing special, his success was a "fluke," and he was "lucky." No respect for the single-minded hard work that himself and his father put in to make him who is he is today. You women sound like those racist sports announcers who used to say blacks had natural gifts and were "lucky", but the white players were smarter and more hard-working i.e. deserving.

Nobody is side-stepping the fact he cheated but that doesn't make him an asshole who stumbled ass-backward into billions. Wake up.

b) Part of his success came from him projecting the image of a family man. Nope, he was rich before that and still would have been had he not married. In fact the way it turned out, it would have been better had he not married. Clooney's getting along just fine thanks. Try again, ladies.

c) We are not talking about "sports stars" in general, but TIGER. Focus.

d) That Elin is ENTITLED to the very dough you all are trying to downplay. An automatic 20% just for having his kids as I recall.

e) If this was about some girlie shit like the stars of Twilight, or like Andrae said, some Wiccan, feminist bullshit or anything else that you yourself like, there would be no question about those stars deserving every penny they get and more.
