I wholeheartedly agree, notice I stated "stronger rights", the existence of such a system after a long fight and struggle by women's rights movements. Maybe thankful shouldn't be the word but instead knowledgeable of the history of the fight for equality.

Men in the West generally know that you pull this kind of actions and you are liable to wind up in prison.

This of course doesn't stop some from being abusers but women have a legal system to turn to to deal with such scumbags.

This guy on the other hand probably has no fear of being dealt with by the legal system in Turkey and likely finds nothing wrong with his actions.

Its a cultural mindset often where this kind of behavior is deemed acceptable, same as those who believe in honor killings for example.
