Fair enough but the expenses are less than what's being given where does the money go? I just don't like the idea of someone profiting off their kids. If the money goes in a trust fine or even towards a college fine but I've seen too many of these women out here with really nice designer shit they didn't buy. It's shameful

 

Most states work off a formula where the amount each parent makes is input then the formula takes into account how many days a month the kid is with each parent. It is very fair. A lot of men don't take their kids for the majority time. The ones who do are more rare. Also men get remarried quicker ususally within the first year. Don't know if they are related.

I had a male friend moaning about his child support amount. I said uhhh......how many days a month are the kids with you?? He said a number, like 4 days I think. I said well right there's your problem. She is housing and feeding them more days. You either pay with your time or you pay with your wallet. He grumbled that he didn't want them anymore because he liked weekends to do single guy stuff. Nothing more to say.

Truth be told, most women dont have all her expenses paid. The child support is to ensure that the mother ensures their child is taken care of, since she has primary care since she's getting the child support.

Also, using this father as the example, the single guy stuff he likes to do is affordable also because he doesn't have to cover every single cost of a child every day..unlike his ex does. She's not calling him for every last thing the kid needs or wants and despite what the payee may think, their child support is a contribution towards the financial care of their children, not the only financial care.

btw, i still get child support for my son...he deserves it and i make sure he has what he needs...so even though i work FT and make a decent salary it is just a formula of both salaries and where the child will reside to determine child support...if he would have been willing to do 50/50 custody he wouldn't have had to pay anything...his choice...i get the direct deposit every 2 weeks...

 

Well, all this money amount discussed may be for naught...he just may have to ask for a reduction...

My ex never paid child support. If I went by what the court said way back when my son was four, and excluded college costs, he'd still owe me more than enough to pay off my house. But it was damned clear he wouldnt pay, and after two years of chasing him in and out of court, I decided to just move on and concentrate on my own career. For the record: I never ever interfered with his visitation, and gave him extra time when he wanted it.

I think he's a contemptible loser. He once said to me "I'm so proud of your success - you'd never ever have become as successful if I'd paid child support, so it's really *my* success, not yours."
