Racist Australians: "No wonder the Brits disowned those criminals!"

Ah well, as long as we have good people like Whikle, Sin and Tarshi around here...there is hope in the land down under.

i think we should all remember when this was recorded. the 1950's were also not particularly wonderful for black people in america either.

i'm not going to touch the disowning of criminals comment

Of course! No one is ignoring that it was horrible for quite a lot of places during those times. Stupidity ran rampant everywhere. It's just that it's easy pickings for those early Britons who were shipped over to now Australia to enact their bigoted behavior.

You shouldn't be all that surprised. After what we know about discrimination relating to the aboriginals there...it's only intuitive that the darker side of things tend to be the wrong end of the stick.

You can ALWAYS replenish it with cookies and cream. Now, what lady best suits your needs? :smt004

This happened all over the place unfortunately.
In Sweden, this delicious confection was called N*****balls, they are uber popular and TASTY!!! - I have no clue as how that happened.. for many decades, people didn't even think about what it really meant. It was just a name of a delicacy and no-one even thought twice about the meaning if it. It became a well ingrained word that meant nothing but delicious chocolate balls rolled in coco-nut flakes. I suspect the Australian thingy above has the same history, people didn't think how bad it was. Not an excuse, just flagrant ignorance.
But then, thank god, Swedish people started thinking about what it really meant.. and all of a sudden everybody was mortally embarrassed by the name of these tasties that you have with coffee in Sweden. Now that stupid name is put to the test. Swedes was not aware of how offensive it was. They get it now, and have for a long time, but this skit is funny putting light to it.
