You think in this day and age where most of the security services are BLACK and the Black population is free there will be blatant racism in South Africa empyrium? You have got to be kidding me .There is more racism in Brazil that South Africa.

What do you think is on Will's mind in the bottom pic?

Will's thinking "I'd like to hand her a cock." Boo...I know, I know. Bad pun, but I couldn't resist. I actually enjoyed that movie. And props to Will Smith for being unafraid to have interracial relationships on film.

  5. I don't care what anybody says, Will smashed it.

I was thinking the same thing. Especially since the talk about Will & Jada, for years, has been that they have some type of open/swinger marriage. So yeah, I think Will smashed Charlize, too.

Sadly to this day most of the security services in South Africa are WHITE and most of the police (especially the upper echelon) are white too.
    Sad reality in South Africa.

This has become a very interesting thread. A few of you certainly know a lot about South Africa (much more than me). I've always wondered about Charlize Theron. She's a very attractive women and, I've liked some of her movies. It would surprise me to see her with a black dude but, you never know. I saw her in a interview with Will Smith - promoting Hancock - and much like in the pics, she seemed to have a really good rapport with him.

Same here. He looks like he can barely keep his hands off her as it is.

I read somewhere of all the women Will Smith's wife Jada fears the most is this woman.

How does that Canadian loser gets hot A list women all the time is beyond me. He is not even that funny or a great actor. He is a good looking guy but NOT great looking. He is not Brad Pitt or Clooney by any stretch of imagination. He does not appear to be a charming devenour, to me he comes across as annoying frat house guy that trys hard to be the leader of the pack. Just amazing, America has been great to his ass!

Because he's a whiteboy -- America is always great to whiteboys (and I mean this in a derogatory way...but, it's true).

The guy is funny. He made Blade 3 watchable and maybe some women want to be the center of attention so they won't date someone who has the possibility of out shining them. Not everyone is going to be Jay-z and Beyonce

I apologize for hijacking this thread but....

All these red carpet and premier photos remind me of is how much more cozy and intimate Will and Charlize were allowed to be off camera than they were on camera. The original script was more of a romance between their two characters but the movie that was made watered that down. And that is so frustratingly typical. Hollywood still won't "go there".

Meanwhile the same Hollywood industry has no caution it seems with pairing Zoe Saldana exclusively with white males in mainstream Hollywood films. And no one anywhere says a word about it, no griping as there would be if Will Smith had had one love scene with a white female like Charlize.

Anyone who keeps up with the industry, and I’ve seen this coming for about four or five years, know that the new generation of black actresses getting the most prestigious work are not only being paired mostly with white actors but, in many if not most cases, are also dating/marrying white men too. Saldana, Paula Patton, Zoe Kravitz, Thandie Newton, etc, are just like Rae Dong Chong or Halle Berry or Whoopi Goldberg on that front. Add Kerry Washington to that group as well. And while I don’t know of the romantic off screen lives of talented actresses such as Naomi Harris and Nicole Beharie, their onscreen love affairs are almost exclusively with white men too. Seriously some of you should check out IMDB pages of these ladies and see what is coming down the pipe. They get to cuddle up or have sex scenes with the leading white male actors of today. Meanwhile the leading white actresses will rarely be in the same scene as a black male in a mainstream movie. And then there is the fact that studios are also more than willing to pluck Beyonce and Rhianna from the music world and put them in movies in which their leading men are white too. Can you imagine Taylor Swift getting paired with Michael Ealy or Las Alonso? That answer is obvious.

I’ve gone beyond tired of forking over my dollars to an industry in which the white male gets to be the only kid in the candy store which is why I don’t get a hard-on like some of you guys every time you see a trailer for another superhero flick. It is 2011 and mainstream films are getting whiter if its is at all possible.

So let's see Hollywood makes movies about all of these comic books, video games, cartoons, children's books, fantasy novels, etc and almost all of these films are lily white because the source materials are filled with all white characters. Or if not all the characters are white certainly the most important characters will be white leaving the characters of color to play more token roles. And with the source materials come a sense of familiarity and a sort of expectation that fans (particularly fanboys) want the studios to follow strictly. So any suggestion of a black Superman, a black Captain America, a black James Bond, a black Batman, a black Tarzan are passionately shouted down by these fans. And that is totally acceptable because I too believe in respecting the source material. I go along with the typical white fans' response that if you want a black person to play a major role than pick a black character as a lead for a film. Fine with that too.

Then comes a series of film that stars a black character, a rarity in films. The character is based on a source material, a comic book, in which his race had been established. The first two parts of this series of movies, The Blade franchise, do very well at the box office and almost single handedly kick starts Marvel's recent successful run of movies. So when the third film of Blade comes around what do the writer and director do? They decide to make the third film more about two white characters who were created for the screen. Do you see Hollywood making a third Batman movie focus more on some random black male character? Don't think so. Here was one of the few opportunities for a franchise revolving around a black man and Hollywood still decided to "whiten it up" and make Blade less prominent. Why? Guys like Ryan Reynolds gets COUNTLESS opportunities to play superhero types because 99% of those characters in comics are white men. He didn't need the opportunity to be the star of a movie that was supposed to be about a black guy. Did you ever think about that when you were sitting back and marveling how his presence in Blade 3 made the film watchable?
