This is NOT my opinion but I want to know other people's thoughts..

...and not get shot down please.

I was chatting to my housemate about my attraction to BM and IRs in general. He himself has had IRs with Asian girls (he's a British WM). Anyway, when I was talking about my joining the forum, the circumstances behind it and so on, he said about BM that he believes "they make great fathers, but make awful partners". When I asked why, his response was that they cheat.

NOW. This is NOT my belief as I a) dont know enough r/ships with BM to comment and b) I actually think that ALL men cheat (it's my greatest fear in a r/ship).

So I asked him 'why do you think this?' and he said that he has known women (of all colours) who have been involved with BM who have been cheated on and he believes that this is of a a higher proportion than with WM.

And he also says that BM themselves with whom he is friends claim as much, that they have a propensity to cheat and joke about it 'amongst the boys' whereas he has experienced less of this from his WM mates, who he says express shame when they cheat. He says that he has found his BM mates to be more flippant about cheating.

Now, I dont know what to think about this. Opinions? Experiences?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont shoot me down, I'm not trying to start a fight or being racist or any of those things that people get accused of in other contentious threads. I'm honestly just wondering whether this is a common perception, whether people think it is true, what people's experiences have been....

No definitely not. As I said, it isn't my opinion. I literally just had that conversation with my housemate and seeing as we talk about racial stereotypes etc in here I want to know what people think about the comments my housemate made.....

I personally think all men cheat and as I said it's my greatest fear in a r/ship period. But I was surprised that my housemate thought this and the basis for his thinking is (according to him) from people he personally knows, so I just wanted to put it out there to the forum?

 

LOL, yet i know plenty ww who have better relationships with bm and never been cheated on, funny how when they was with wm they got cheated on more, not suprised it came from a white guy either, alot think they are angels when it comes to relationships etc

Agreed. Everyone, regardless of who, are prone to cheat if they allow their sexual trysts take over their need for companionship.

It boils down to this there are some asshole black men out there, just like there are some asshole white men, bet if you go to Asia and ask Asian women about Asian men you will find the same as well. Heck there are women that cheat and dog men out.

It all comes back to the individual. Yes a guy can put on an act and behave like he is loyal and faithful and as soon as he gets what he want he is looking elsewhere. With that said that goes back to the specific guy.

Notice how everything you friend says is he has been around, he has known. Its his perspective.

Only you can chart your own course, not let others do that for you.

Many relationships will end because of numerous reasons, cheating is merely one of them in some cases.

If you trust yourself as a confident, secure woman to make the right choices then what is the problem. Live and love.

Absolutely concur, man or woman a cheater is going to be a cheater because that is who they are as a person. They make that personal decision to go down that path, race or gender has no role in it.

Its all about respecting someone else as a partner, even if you don't like that person any longer, you owe it to them to make that clear and then move on.

 

Odd examples. Schwarzenegger was by default, an awful father to his illegitimate child by not acknowledging or showing love, and Weiner we can't say if he's a good father or not, since he's not one yet.

 

Umm are we not talking about cheating here or am i lost in translation?
