I'm very aware of the racial make-up of the South African population, I know more about South African than you can even being to imagine, when I said the majority I was referring to the white (mostly Afrikaner) population, they don't like blacks and blacks are not too fond of them either, you can't even find blacks who speak Afrikaans, only whites speak Afrikaans, blacks don't even bother to learn it, they hate them.

Not really, Afrikaner girls are usually pretty but I never tried anything with them, it's a small population who is still centuries behind in race relations (again, if you don't believe, ask anyone from South Africa).

 

The sad thing is that they showed more intimacy there in those pics than their characters did in that lame ass movie they did together.

White Afrikaans are NOT the majority in South Africa, yet you insist they are. How is 9.2% of whites, which include Afrikaans, considered the majority? Are you sure you're not looking at it as 92%? SOME of them would date "coloureds" though... I've seen two or three couples and there is even a coloured rugby player who has a white Afrikaner girlfriend.

As for South Africa, it is a nation where Apartheid legally ended in the 90's, I mean that is freaking nuts. Not even a good full 2 decades since the end of perhaps the world's most discriminatory system of legal governance.

I read where even television broadcasts in South Africa was divided and presented to the different racial audiences.

This was a system of control that would make the most humble and laid back white person bigoted. After all here was a minority exercising total and absolute control over the majority.

With that in mind a firm hand of repression is required for it to go on for so long as it did, not to mention all sense of right and wrong on basic human dignity and decency has to be ignored to do what was done in South Africa.

I never implied (pay attention, I'll only say this once) that ALL of South Africa, let alone whites are very open to that. I never stated that once, jackass. Secondly, I specifically said that it's more of a generational issue and it's TRUE. It's nowhere near the same as me saying, "All white Afrikaans are open." GQBrotha,if the South won the Civil War it would be like South Africa. Some of those Afrikaners went to the US South during the Jim Crow era before the Nationalist Party won the election in 1948.

 

I could only imagine, I mean look what was still done under Jim Crow and that is despite being resoundingly defeated in the Civil War.

No less than a couple of years later, they made sure the carpetbagger Yankees headed back home and every black that was given political power during Reconstruction was ousted. We all know what followed after that up until the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

That's the thing about racism, its eats away at your existence, colors your mentality in terms of latent obsession and and decision making.

Southern Whites devoted themselves to discrimination, the same thing as in South Africa, the problem was they didn't realize what it was doing to them at the same time. It created a hardened and false sense of superiority because of one's skin. Even if one was not an avowed racist the sentiments were hard to shake free of.

 

True,those Jim Crow laws in those Southern States would evolve into something that is scary. I doubt if Booker T. Washington would had gotten so far had the CSA became a nation in 1865.
