There is big possibility Perry can unseat Obama. I am not Karl Rove fan but his piece on yesterday's wall street is a good analysis of Obama's possible defeat in 2012. He writes the reasons and highlights the economy as # 1....

What does conservatism mean to you? what are you trying to conserve? Does this mean we have to conserve the life style of America pre-1960?

The political climate we are in right now is fucking insane, and to not recognize that both parties have only one agenda- to undo each other- is a huge problem. I hope Obama wins but he started on the wrong foot. he should have concentrated on the economy first and really got it going and at the sametime healthcare (it was important to get done)

 

He passed the Stimulus package, but you're correct that he should placed better emphasis on economic issues rather than going at it bit by bit. But, we have escaped a possibility of the depression, but the recovery will be at a slippery slope.

I wish he would go through with the national passenger railroad like the one in europe. he stated he wanted to do that. that would put people to work like a mofo. it would help skilled labor, the longterm unskilled labor workforce and then will help the leisure industry. a win-win situation. Okay, paniro. Tell us more about who you do listen to and what you read. Which issues are important to you and why? I have lots of conservative friends that I discuss issues with frequently, and I am interested. I think the conversation would go further if we all understood each other better.

I have no intention of being nasty. I know it's as rough to be a conservative right now as it is to be liberal, and it can be frustrating trying to articulate a position when you feel like the vultures are circling. We don't have to agree, but I think we should respect each other enough to listen.
