I actually agree with you. Perhaps, my post came off as sexist, which was not the intent. Rather, it was based on my belief that men are more hormonally driven in areas of sex, than women. Specifically, that adolescent guys are much more likely to engage the sexual invitation of an available female teacher than the opposite being true. I think that a greater percentage of male teachers view female students as appropriate partners for sexual liaisons than female teachers.

Then, again, perhaps I'm just digging a deeper hole...

The whole way we look at situations like this is sexist. Male teachers who do this with female students are predators, female teachers who this male students are engaging in inappropriate sex wink wink nudge nudge. Basically girls are brainless and helpless while boys are fully capable of making big decisions like this especially with an authority figure.
    It's just sad.

I am sure you know that I was not being serious. Her exterior is not important at all. Her character is disgusting.

You are right on all points, Tam. I really don't think he knew any better. I only wonder about this boys parent(s) & family. If they had any knowledge about this relationship, they should have taken action, & reported it immediately. If any adult relative of this boy knew of the relationship, and kept silent anyway, they are just as responsible as the predator.

I think that people get it at this point, and female teachers are regarded as equal predators. Obviously, sexual pursuit by authority figures is wrong in both instances, and in the case of minors of either sex, they aren't able to give consent.

I don't think so. Mary Kay Letourneau changed that public perception of women teachers being nurturing and trustworthy. She went to prison. How is that letting the woman off?

Quit always crying men are not treated well/fairly. :smt089

Reread what I said and reply again. I'm going to be the better person and let you have that ignorant ass statement.

Btw take a look at this:

I think many people have a hard time seeing men as victims when the woman is the predator because when we think of molestation or rape we always think insertion. So in the case of a young boy having sex with an older woman we think he must want it since he's inserting the woman. Not to mention a lot of men think since they use to fantasize about having sex with their teachers as youths and wanting sex a lot the young boys are hitting the jackpot. Like I said its just sad

I can't believe that any clear thinking person would ever view rape in so narrow a way, and I certainly don't perceive rape in this way. The idea that a man's thoughts about rape are colored by his chlldhood fantasies is laughable, perhaps in the case of men who haven't fully matured this is true.

I do agree that it's quite sad as the potential for long term psychological damage is equally as great for abused people of either sex.

Really? You can't see how men come to that conclusion? I don't see it as much as immaturity as it is ignorance and the inability empathize. Men don't commonly fear rape unless incarcerated. And again or image of rape is colored by the fact that what we see of it commonly involves a male predator and a female victim. There's been tons of articles on it which is why the idea of a male victim with a female predator is unbelievable.

I didn't say that at all. My comment was in response to your suggestion that childhood fantasy drives men to think that minor boys "hit the jackpot" because they desired their teachers as well. My comment was directed at that group of men. I agree that another percentage of men fall under the category of those who lack empathy or are ignorant as well.

If such teachers gone to a all woman jury she would have a bigger sentence since the males from the judge on down have those fantasies while they were young give much lighter sentences especially if the teacher is good looking. If this was a Black Male teacher with young White girls he would have the most harshest sentence imaginable.

I don't think he had any real idea of what was going on or that he was being manipulated. Being a teenager, he may have even been convinced (either by her or himself) that he was grown enough to handle the "adult" situation. Whatever it was she saw in him that made him an ideal victim, she knew how to use it to her advantage. At his age it wouldn't be hard for him to keep something like that secret...teenagers tend to be sneaky anyway, so it wouldn't surprise me if his family knew nothing about it. A lot of parents don't pay enough attention to what their teens are up to much of the time. I agree that if they did know what was happening, they share in the guilt of what happened to that boy.

Here are two examples of White female teachers who molested Black boys and the views of the community as well. Same town, same school year(2007), two weeks apart if I recall.

    The other case involved
Authorities said Allenna Ward, met the 14-to 15-year-old boys at the school where she taught as well as at a motel, a park and behind a restaurant.

According to this blogger below few people believed the Black victims in the second case. Perhaps he was speaking for white people in town...

    http://thelibertysphere.blogspot.com/2007/09/shocker-allenna-williams-ward-pleads.html

However everything else I read suggested a serious racial divide. One black minister said: "There's a long history of intimidation and it's a sin. It's unholy in Laurens County to speak out."

Grading scale 1 victim = 10 years if your aesthetically challenged (O.K. butt ugly).
Grading scale 5 victims= 6 years if you are average.

    She was being funny.

She is a WW that has dated BM therefore if she meant " all black men go for the bottom of the barrel, fat & ugly white women...and it starts young" she would be saying that she is bottom of the barrel, fat & ugly.

Tarshi is none of those things.

Only some Black women and racists say "all black men..." because only those two groups think they know all Black men. A WW that has dated enough Black Men and is not messed up in the head, would know she does not know 'all Black men'.

    Exactly.

When it comes down to it, we will never make others happy and we really need to focus our positive energies into one another.
